Optimistic about the company operations etc less so about getting the story out there. There may be a bit of we don't want a take over bid when we are at this level.

Good points. I think we both see missed opportunities and hope the BoD will learn from them. I am, perhaps, less optimistic about that than you are.

Don't dispute that argument , there is the counter argument that many may have been waiting for it all in order the leave , this way many will have been tempted to stay who otherwise may not have. No way to know which argument would have won. Having said that I would have agreed with your argument IF the divi was accompanied by news at the same time. It wasn't so I lean towards the latter argument. No doubt loads of news to come and share price should be much higher after the news so logical to stay for second tranche.

Had the dividend been paid as one large payment, then I believe many more would have been tempted to reinvest some or all of it in Ariana. As it was handled, another good opportunity to promote the company was IMO wasted.

Tongue in cheek JAF I know you age but to be fair I reckon spring things we be a lot clearer. Many will view the next divi payment date as an appraisal point .

It's less easy to be patient at 73.

The Head of the Bank of England said last night they may have to raise interest rates to curb inflation which is expected to reach 4% well above their preferred 2% ceiling. That isn't a good environment for gold. But other economic shocks could supports gold's hedging status. Port in a storm. Uncertainty in financial markets isn't helping investor confidence. As Biggles says probably patience is needed whilst we wait for accretive news from AAU which overcomes the negatives of the market in general.

If you want disappointment look at chf and hum both of which I am in but nowhere near to same extent as here. But the management here suits the higher holding. The other two have much more sales orientated management and that can lead to mistrust and a volition stock.

I understand there are still some late dividends but there has been nowhere near the expected uptake and unfortunately the share price has not responded either as some were expecting.
Once again great expectation fades in to disappointment here.

Gold price not helping. General market sentiment not helping. No recent news not helping. Won't be like this for ever, that's for sure. But those with late dividends have not been disadvantaged which is some consolidation.

I am waiting for the company to justify why I should plough my dividend back into it. It's just sitting there in my ISA so come on Kerim, throw us a bone. A broker note, Salinbas drilling news, Tavsan, Cyprus, Romania - give us something meaty.

I contacted Barclays yesterday and was told that they hadn't received the money from the Registrar and would chase. Didn't make much sense to me.
