JAF, if you dont think the share price is going up, why hold? This seems an illogical position?

I’ve had to sell some this week because of moving house.
On the Barclays front, I have always had same-day payment into my account with dividends from other shares.

Some investors just sell into perceived strength before announcements - thats their strategy. Others just have a myriad domestic expenses to meet - new kitchens, holidays, weddings and astronomic gas bills. Plenty of reasons.

And Plas dont forget the Asgard Metals Fund, slightly bizarrely virtue-signalled in KS's Dividend Date rns.

Sorry to sound negative but it would seem from previous RNSs that all the market is interested in are items which add $$$ to the bottom line in the next 6 months or so. Most of those announcements, whilst great for the long-term prosperity of Ariana, don't meet the above criteria.

Surely it is a cast iron given that at least some investors (5%/25% perhaps even more) will want to buy more shares tomorrow or Monday (whenever they get their mits on the 0.035p pay-out).
If this is the case, won't that in all likelihood move the share price north?
So, why in fairyland would anyone be selling any shares this week? It is beyond me. Surely this will be the last time you will be able to buy at these discounted prices below 5p.
On top of that, the Director's bought shares about a month ago which meant we were in a "closed" period for news. I expect they were keening any event not to release news before the pay-out to let shareholders buy shares at bargain prices. But once the pay-out is made and we are out of the "closed" period,(NOW) I'm confident there is a lot of important news to flow.
1. Salinbas drilling started in September
2. Results from Cyprus - should be good. Due early Q4?
3. Tavsan E.I.A. permit - overdue & Covid delayed, but Govt. Dept's getting back to normal now.
4. Kosovo & Eastern Europe update/plans
5. Exploration & Development plans
6. Improved production at Kiziltepe as a result of new Ball Mill and higher grade feed material etc.
7. Possible Hizarliyayla drilling to start before Christmas - Kerim said this in a Q& A back in June. That really excites me.
So lots of news, pay-out stimulating reinvestment and perhaps positive momentum & gold hardening all running up to Christmas. Again I ask, why in god's name would anyone be selling this week? Isn't it time to top up ahead of the rush?

Shortarm,

I thought your comment on monday 'The start of possibly one of the most interesting weeks of AAU ownership' was a bit hopeful. It astounds me that in this age when money can be moved around instantly, it still takes banks a few days to pay out your own cash.

Thought the Investor Meets was quite good and I did like that AAU took the time to answer in writing the remaining questions

I do not know as I am not "in" but

yellow jersey is organizing zoom calls for much smaller Cos - lesser capitalization, loss making, only few years being around - and it is quality

it looks to me - Company must initiate it

but on the other hand - investor meets Co was done in a fair way imho so no need for YJ to do it

Well, trading volumes dont suggest news is imminent. But interestingly the last director share dealing rns was the 24th August (shares purchased the day before). So does that mean that the closed period ends this Friday the 24th? Coincidence or Grand Plan (tongue mostly in cheek)??

Management have tried to manage this risk by reducing ownership of Turkish assets to 23.5%. I'm sure the Turkish situation and unpredictable nature of edrogen was up there in their decision to reduce exposure on all mines not just salinbas.

I think it's very rare that AAU have released news on a Ffriday - but it would be 'playing a blinder' to release significant news (Tavsan, exceptional Cyprus) this Friday when everyone has cash to splash. But expecting too much methinks for a PR blinder given their PR record. But we live in hope...

Goodness me it's been a long time coming but now Pay out day is suddenly very close. It's hard to believe really. I can't say I think they managed this process well but I'm grateful they choose to return cash to shareholders. The big question now is what happens from here. They've matured and with cash they are able to focus on what they are best at so the next chapter should be even better. They just need to now start articulating that forward strategy in some detail. Presenting an exciting future history.

Eight remaining holes are pending assay results, which will be released within the coming weeks.
