06/1/2021 08:47 | MDV is also Company Secretary, that probably involves quite a lot of work, form filling, etc. | ![]() paul280i

06/1/2021 08:31 | Bigglesbingham, given you have had more interaction with the BoD than most of us and will therefore have better knowledge, could you let us know what MdV (Chairman and the highest paid director) does for the business? The IOD defines the main features of the role of Chair are as follows: 1). As well as being Chair of the board, they expected to act as the company’s leading representative which will involve the presentation of the company’s aims and policies to the outside world. 2. To take the chair at general meetings and board meetings. With regard to the latter this will involve: the determination of the order of the agenda; ensuring that the board receives accurate, timely and clear information; keeping track of the contribution of individual directors and ensuring that they are all involved in discussions and decision-making. At all meetings the Chair should direct discussions towards the emergence of a consensus view and sum up discussions so that everyone understands what has been agreed. 3. To take a leading role in determining the composition and structure of the board. This will involve regular reviews of the overall size of the board, the balance between executive and non-executive directors and the balance of age, experience and personality of the directors. 4. To ensure effective communication with shareholders and, where appropriate, the stakeholders. Items 1 & 4 seem to be the main cause of concern from most of the comments on this board. Generally, I only ever seem to see his name when there are Options or Shares being bought/sold. Thanks | ![]() xow98
05/1/2021 20:20 | At such crucial times surely family must move to sustain the breadwinner in pursuit of his dreams... or am I being old-fashioned? | ![]() 8rad

05/1/2021 19:35 | I have been accused of being one of the boards and companies biggest advocates and this is because I feel that they have done an excellent job and deserve to be rewarded. It's just this one area of communication the message that needs to be tightened up. My tone may be because I've been in hospital having another knee op and cheesed off so sorry if been getting on posters nerves but think it has to be addressed . | ![]() bigglesbingham
05/1/2021 19:31 | He's got family there and in modern world distance is deemed to be irrelevant. I don't concur in certain circumstances when your expressing dissatisfaction you need to have face to face contact. | ![]() bigglesbingham
05/1/2021 19:20 | CC Why is Kerim still where he is? We know he does not have to be so what is going on in his head? | ![]() 8rad
05/1/2021 19:01 | It's like Plasybryn said the other day, luckily the BoD can rely on a loyal LTH shareholder base. I think they have been spoilt in that and hope they realise it and going to pull out all the stops with new money to move the share price to where it should be. | ![]() soulsauce
05/1/2021 18:59 | Ariana regularly arranges presentation events where shareholders (or potential shareholders) can meet the board and put whatever questions they like. The last event was at a venue next to the Mines & Money conference in London, in late November 2019. I have been to a number of such events over the years (I can't recall how many) and always come away with the impression that they want to show the world what they have and what they are doing, because they have confidence in both. Of course, the anti-covid measures have put an end to all such meetings. Please don't expect Ariana to put out weekly RNS bulletins to provide stimulation for day-traders. | ![]() meanreverter
05/1/2021 18:40 | technical and industry expertise very different to stockmarket knowhow. this is where pg should have earned their keep by advising aau management properly. something for aau bod to mull perhaps? | ![]() konil
05/1/2021 18:28 | Very possible but the investor communication screw ups seems to have been tolerated I find it hard to reconcile how a company so well run by extremely intelligent people allow lip service to be paid to investor communication and mistakes go without apparent consequence. | ![]() bigglesbingham
05/1/2021 17:23 | bb, yeah i get it now. i was looking very narrowly at fund management buyers but of course there are pm institutions that would be interested! fair bet that once the jv is finalised industry buyers will be running the numbers over aau. one reason why ks/mdv might be going slow on this is so that they do not find themselves in a position of having to put a lowball offer to the vote, so maybe biding the time until share price somewhat higher? just a guess. | ![]() konil
05/1/2021 16:48 | Yes I still haven't had emailed q and a notification yet. The two ends within space of an hour was final nail in coffin for my tolerance of investor communication | ![]() bigglesbingham

05/1/2021 16:31 | Biggles, Glad you liked it and thank you for your help. Like all of us on here, I really want this company to succeed and it is so close to doing so. | ![]() jaf1948
05/1/2021 16:28 | Excellent post hope you don't mind but I've sent it to the company. Who do read this board anyway. Felt it was spot on so sent it to give extra emphasis. | ![]() bigglesbingham
05/1/2021 16:18 | I don't think you are far off the mark there Jaf whether intentional or not. | ![]() soulsauce
05/1/2021 16:13 | I have cut down my posts on here but I would like to add my thoughts to today's discussion. I have the great advantage of NOT knowing any of Ariana's board members, nor have I ever been to any of the sites. My perception, therefore, of AAU is probably more similar to most holders and potential holders of these shares. I see a well run and profitable company but one that is run more like a private company than a public one. The interest of shareholders only seem to be of importance to the Board when they conveniently happen to align with their own interests. I stress this is my perception only - I have never knowingly met or spoken to another AAU shareholder - but it could explain why people are not rushing to buy into this company. I have not sold a single share as I believe it will come good but I think I understand why it is not making the headlines that it should. | ![]() jaf1948
05/1/2021 16:10 | They have been trying to get institutional investment for years even during capital raises and as such their results have been woeful. As we grow maybe they will come up with results hence I suggested joint broker who can get message across to PI s because at these trades volumes the message isn't getting out there. Institutions don't automatically buy in at discount if the story is good. Their involvement propels the share price if it's done correctly, take Poly over at CHF bought in sub 10p went to 19p within a week. | ![]() bigglesbingham
05/1/2021 15:07 | bb, yes of course re. your holding, but not many have 3% or more, so are not named in the accounts. for those with less than 3% the share register would only identify those with direct holdings, nominee holders would not be identifiable i believe. re. the lack of marketing by pg, what is it they should be trying to achieve at this stage, especially if company is not looking to raise funds through issue of new shares? if pg are to spend time and money including ks/mdv's time in extolling virtues of aau to institutional audience, how effective would that be if company metrics (mkt cap, size etc.) are not currently suitable for most fund managers. i'm asking because i'm obviously missing something here. tia. | ![]() konil
05/1/2021 15:06 | Top post Charles. | ![]() soulsauce
05/1/2021 15:04 | I have to be careful because every time I post here it looks like I am moaning. Well that is certainly true some of the time. It's just that I don't quite understand the mentality of a bod that has a) a veritable record of operational success and b) quite a decent stake in their own company but don't seem to want to promote it and raise the profile and thereby the share price. Furthermore, they appear to think their broker PG is doing a good job promoting the company when they clearly could be doing much, much more. It's as if they have either been blinkered or blackmailed. Because they are falling short of the expectations of most shareholders in this department. So as soon as the deal is finalised I would expect to see a full review of operations with timelines and a full evaluation of marketing and PR with an action plan and reasons if no action is taken. There is NO WAY the share price should be as low as it is. It's ridiculous Kerim wake up man! | ![]() charles clore |
