Sorry bb a bed and isa is when shares held out of an isa are sold and the money transferred into an isa and then used to buy back the shares. Thought you would have known that.

Bed and ISA is a straightforward way to fund your ISA using your existing investments. You sell the stocks and shares you hold in your Trading Account, then buy them back within your ISA. It means you get to take advantage of the tax-efficient benefits of an ISA for your investments. So theoretically you can bed isa any amount as long as free cash is within isa.

Yes new money 20000. But original question related implied the large transactions which were twinned couldn't be bed and isa when they could jf free cash was in isa

I was thinking they've left it late, maybe someone spreading the shares between family allowances that weren't being used etc. All the large trades were way below the mid...confused but happy we held at this level...news next week I hope! Have a good weekend all I'm going to try and have a day away for monitoring this static price!

I like your thinking Konil, as long as the divi appears before too long.

Lotts- I have noticed that the spread is often inaccurately reported throughout the day with AAU. This makes it a challenge to identifying buys/sells at times. I would be surprised if it was traded for tax reasons though as we are mid way through the tax year and anyone leaving it this late to switch from GIA to ISA for example would be risking it given that we all are expecting the JV confirmation (and associated price rise) to happen imminently. My suggestion is it's just a small amount of investors pulling the trigger because they are sick of waiting for the JV news. It will come soon and we will get our corresponding price rise

Just looking at the trades again there must have been more to it or we would have been down a fair bit? Could be someone moving around for tax reasons before the divi, not that I know much on that side, any ideas?

Bb that would not be bed &ISA as in your example the cash is already in the ISA.

My feeling after the discussion was very comfortable regarding the JV I have heard nothing to make me believe everything isn't on track albeit crossing ts and i's. When having conversations they can't and don't give away info that's not in the public domain but I like to think I'm experienced to tell in someone's positive or negative demeanour and all I got was positivity. Hope that helps but it's my own opinion. I've hoped for completion before end November that includes shareholders having time to study and ratify deal. That is my longest timeframe. Hoping for mid November completion personally.

No selling by me today Charles. I sold about 200k shares about a month ago, as AAU was my only holding and I wanted to get a hold of some more potential multi-baggers. Haven’t sold a share since. Still my biggest holding by far and deservingly so.

Konil, I hold AAU, PALM, CHF-(look like a real gem), and some COB, all of which are potential multi-baggers IMO. Courtesy of Soulsauce I’m checking out KAV and ECR.

I’m not looking to hold anymore than about 5 in total, including AAU, so might be dumping one or two to pick up others. I’ll happily share my final 5 (maybe 6) once I’ve settled on them. The rising tide will float all boats, even the turkeys, and who knows which ones will fly. I guess you just make your best educated guess, place your chips and wait...

The £20000 you refer to is max annual contribution but Say you've had isa for few years had stocks in there which you've recently sold and you've got 100000 cash. You could sell 100000 of a stock held outside isa and use your £100000 to buy the stock back within the isa. So you've bed and isa £100k. Another area is many will hold AAU within isa and outside isa. The very large dividend may give healthy cash balance in isa which could be used to bed and isa AAU shares held outside isa. There is capital gains tax on shares sold to go into the isa so have to watch that. I think however many will use dividend opportunity to just buy more AAU because a lot more will be known about the salinbas drilling program by then and my guess is people will tightly hold AAU when this is know and Ozaltin involved.

True but I get the impression everywhere they have drilled recently has excited them! The second ball mill screams at me underground mining at kiziltepe but sure we will find out in due course.

Thanks BB, that's useful feedback. There would be something wrong if geologists weren't excited by a drilling programme, but we can all look forward to some interesting results and perhaps more significant resource numbers in due course.

Cheers bigglesbingham good to know.

Just been on the Webinar for Castillio Copper. Some of the returns from their supergene copper in Queensland have been as high as 28% and regularly returning double figures - wow. Another one for the watchlist.

Having spoken to company today I sense their excitement and anticipation of the drilling program! It may have been lost in translation but I was very pleased by it. In fact the feeling I got after the call was very comforting , I didn't get any negativity regarding any aspect of the companies progress.
