14/5/2020 05:20 | Ok no madness overnight and the long is safe. Feels bullish but let's see what the next few days bring. It would be good to hold above $9k for a period without any of the recent wild swings. Still very early after the halving but encouraging signs | ![]() aidenabettin

13/5/2020 20:26 | It’s early days post halving but the rate that blocks are being mined seems to have slowed. The mining difficult is changed every 2,016 blocks and is set to try and make the next 2,016 blocks take 2 weeks to mine. 2,016 over 2 week equates to 144 blocks per day, or 1 block every 10 minutes. If it takes longer, on average, than 10 minutes to mine each of the 2,016 blocks then the difficulty is decreased for the next set of 2,016 blocks. If it’s shorter than 10 minutes then the difficult is increased. It was about 6.5 days after the last difficulty change that the halving occurred two nights ago. The hashrate was increasing in those 8.5 days and about 153 blocks were mined per day on average. It’s now been 48 hours since halving. In the first 24 hours about 140 blocks were mined and in the most recent 24 hours about 130 blocks were mined. Early days but a promising sign. | ![]() mcfly79
13/5/2020 20:25 | Topaz; when you start filtering people - that is the start of You turning away from reality... | ![]() roddyb
13/5/2020 18:17 | That's the point. The hashrate is the total of all mining processing available. If less efficient miners turn off the hashrate drops until new or existing miners add machines, but they only do that if it becomes viable commercially based on the variable costs. At this level you have to be good at what you do to make money and that's the beauty of this. It will never be impossible to make money from mining BTC but never too easy either. ARB is in a great position. | ![]() hootza616
13/5/2020 17:30 | Plat finally filtered, loving filtering all the idiots today, across the board | ![]() topazfrenzy
13/5/2020 16:31 | Will the hashrate drop though, if miners drop out. Won't the remaining miners just take up the slack and if they don't, the difficulty will drop to maintain the processing power of the network, with the remaining miners ? | ![]() yump
13/5/2020 16:24 | Negative interest rates exist in Europe already, have done for years! How the Euro has survived this long is beyond me. About time all the governments subscribing to their constant fiat manipulation had a wake up call.Printing money to get yourself out of a hole and win an election was always going to bite us in the rear one day. Someone has to pay the Ferryman! | ![]() hootza616
13/5/2020 16:21 | Well it takes a while for investors conditioned to think the market is a one way bet, but rallies are starting to be sold into rather than dips being bought.Plus with shorts moving in, the hedge funds know they can squeeze them at the moment but once the retail FOMO stops chasing rhe likes of Tesla and Microsoft higher then the fall will be brutal imo! | ![]() suffersnofools |
