@ArgoBlockchain Twitter this morning:-

"The halving has happened. In the post-halving world, the most efficient miners will thrive and the rest will wither away. Currently, 99% of Argo’s BTC mining rigs are new generation machines with 7nm chips. Technology doesn't stop for the inefficient".

Those who have invested to increase capacity will survive. It's not as if the halving was a secret .We are moving to crypto

@ Hootza616 - NO! 1% mining margin for 1Q means that they are going to be struggling today ... would be great if someone had a mining cost curve they would be able to share i.e. how much mining under water today, is ARB top decile, top quartile?

I expect to see a number of M&A events in the next few months as many operations will now struggle. I dont see BTC spiking short term and will increase pressure on many to switch off.It's looking good for ARGO and I will watch it closely. I dont have much invested and I'm really only here to follow the technology

Do you think HUT8 can make a profit at this level? I didn't consider them borderline before but they are well underwater now in my opinion.

Buy some BTC and leave it. A long long way to go.Make it your #1 investment hodl .Hopefully a bit of stability for a month before the next move up. I still think the price of BTC is too high though to do enough damage to border line miners and a dip is still possible

HUT down 20% yesterday. They will be losing cash daily from here on. I guess they were banking on a $15 to $20k BTC price at halving or very soon after. $8 to $9k is perfect price for ARB short term. Should sort the men from the boys!

@Orm5 - yip - very interesting. 1% mining margin in a quarter where ARB's mining margin was much much higher. Could the thesis put forward by some people with common sense (i.e. excl. a few posters above) actually be going to play out i.e. a lot of mining capacity that is inefficient relative to ARB? That coupled with the seller nearly being done (see latest announcement Plat Hunter - as you often seem way behind, PS - Rh / Pd were a much better choice), and this is certainly an interesting time for ARB.

If I was Hut8 - I would be working very diligently on my offer for ARB.

I calculate Chang has disposed of just under 19million shares. He now has just 4.5million left.

Everyone knew the halving was coming for a year. Why does it change anything other than making BTC more scarce? Some miners will go out of business. The ones that remain will make more margin at higher prices.

Someone stated earlier Eric Chang sold all his holdings.

Does anyone else have a link or list of individuals with large holdings which could be future sellers to bring this price down?
