Singer to update forecasts in Jan- be interesting to see where we come out re valn then

"Argentex has published a trading update this morning. Trading for the nine months to Dec’22 to date remains strong as the Group’s core FX business benefited from market tailwinds, the operations in Amsterdam remain ahead of management’s expectations and customer growth as well as an increasing shift towards structured products benefit topline growth. AGFX now expects revenues and earnings for the period ending Dec’22 to be ahead of current market expectations. We are looking for further detail as part of the Group’s FY trading update in January and expect to upgrade our numbers on the back of this. We reiterate our Buy rating in the meantime as the Group’s strong growth potential is yet to be reflected in the share price"

That was indeed a bizarre reaction to the interims.

Hopefully will get another year of growth which will reinforce the growth stock story, rather than just recovery from low/no profit growth.

Yes, hide it in a chest and come back in 5 years to see what has happened.

I must sit on my hands.... repeat.

Yes good market conditions which I think will prevail for 2023, but mostly it's a stock with a good growth pla, niche business model, moats and a scalable growth model into a proportionally large market.

Reminder to self: All Ihave to do is hold and wait. DO NOT topslice.

Clearly the market reaction to the interims last month was completely at variance to what was announced. Those who took advantage of how clueless the market was by buying around the 100p mark have been well rewarded with today's ahead statement with continued robust trading.

"The Board now expects that revenue and earnings for the period ending 31 December 2022 will be ahead of current market expectations. " Just what I like to hear

Okay, they've lost money the last 3 years and therefore reinventing their business model so as to compete with MC and VISA - because that's easier? (And why choose Revenue as the key KPI and not profit/earnings or ROCE?)

They transitioned from being a B2C business with the focus on FFX cards and COVID forced them to do that! They have developed the platform and the latest acquisition adds snother string to the bow. The key KPI is the daily revenue and that is moving in the right direction! They are now primarliy a B2B business now and the latest acquisition puts them in competition with MC and VISA...cheaper and quicker! I hold

VOX pod cast listened to were bullish AGFX to £1.60-80 DYOR and worth a listen, but if you like this share (which I do and own) then surely a no brainer to take a look at EQUALS for those that don't know it but like "the space".

Personally the upside risk/reward and platform differentiator are better than AGFX, so worth a look especially given the recent upgrade. TU due early Jan as well.

DYOR as ever
Cheers

Glad I wasn’t the only one wondering which publication RKW was…

Nice to see this recover after the results dip. I’m back up to breakeven, but it’s one of my few shares that are up this year.

AGFX has had a hard landing after float as that article above says.

The same thing that gives you flying growth stocks - a combination of higher % earnings growth, plus an increase in rating, works painfully the other way around.

This might only be on a p/e a bit above 10 now, but going to grow at 15%+. In which case the traditional calculation of rating x earnings might end up in a year or so at: 15 x 15 = 225p.

Unfortunately I bought relatively soon after float and then again recently, as it seems a well run business, just guilty of investing and watching the earnings drop off.

The rating of 20 x higher earnings dropped to 10 x lower earnings. (Roughly)

In the worst cases you end up with 1/4 of your starting stake if rating and earnings halve.

Nice for others to find this at the bottom - which is in theory when the research into the actual business pays off - assuming it really is a sound business model with a good future.
