23/8/2003 00:34 | 22 bid nice. | matthewa
23/8/2003 00:31 | Should be eating into any stock overhang, hoping the MM's will try to shake her as I wish I had more. Hard to believe this is trading at a price below that of the market low on March 12th, & they have all that cash plus the IP in recovering SEMI market! Look at recent run of the US SOX index. Willing one of the nastier MM's to drop Offer back to 22 ;-) | nur0mancer
23/8/2003 00:10 | MM's on this stock are truly nasty and it takes a lot to get them move up, notice how WINS tried to shake by dropping Bid from 21 back to 20.5. Another big Buy hit immediately forcing UBS to switch from Offer to Bid & the others are now following up. Best action in ages, just disappointed they didn't fall back to 20 before the rise ;-) | nur0mancer
23/8/2003 00:10 | Long ARK @ 22p. Highly speculative yes. Has more cash the its current share price. IQE inidicated a slighly more +ve sentiment and it doubled. | matthewa

22/8/2003 18:29 | Hi David, No problem. We can't blame everyone for getting over-excited today, it was huge fun, I was glued to Level 2 on Arc, rubbing my hands with glee as my half million Arc shares rocketed in value !! I'm still pretty sceptical about Arc's long term prospects, but that doesn't really matter whilst the shares trade at or below net cash, and they're still well below net cash even after today's smashing rise. But looking at the meteoric rises of some of Arc's equally questionable peers (e.g. IQE, a 10-bagger), I am inclined to think the fun may only have begun with Arc. Very high volumes today, and I am grateful to the poster who pointed out the fact that Arc only has about 13% of its shares in "free float", i.e. not in the hands of over 3% holders, which should multiply the impact of any future heavy buying due to shortage of available shares. Hopefully there might be a bit of comment over the weekend, and an even better week ahead. Mustn't get too over-excited though. Cheers, Paul Scott. | paulypilot
22/8/2003 17:15 | Paul Scott thanks for you reply post (many moons ago - I've been away;). There's an interesting dicussion to be had here, but it looks like it's going to get buried in excited daytrading chatter. Shame really, but good to see ARK going up. I'd be up for discussion with a qualified accountant anytime though, for the sake of world peace and understanding of course! 'Techie' | davidhel
22/8/2003 16:50 | held up well at close with all the late selling!. | predator2
22/8/2003 16:29 | I agree chicken but rumour and speculation etc the last quarters results were p'ss poor even and would have been even if they were in line with forecasts anyhow good luck | dickdasterdly10000
22/8/2003 16:26 | Also chart looks excellent | chicken
22/8/2003 16:24 | Personally I think ARK is at worse a very strong hold from this point in time for current holders and a speculative and calculated buy for others. Fundamentally with an expected improvement in the sector, and the strong balance sheet, it may have been recently unexciting but is surely a good candidate to prosper in any upturn post buyback. On a trading basis, much of todays buys have been around 23p'ish which hardly clears a profit at the current level; so with the Intel guidance note underpinning the sectors rise, the possibility of any bid interest may clarify over the weekend, without too much downside on the retrace if the bid possibility proves to be unfounded. | avatar o8o
22/8/2003 16:23 | Tony, OK. | kiwihope
22/8/2003 16:22 | bought some at 23p and sold at 26p purely on the momentum imho ARK is losing money hand over fist so although it has a cash pile it is disppearing quarter by quarter and can't see it getting the critical mass to profitability purely my opinion but good luck to those that hold worth remembering that the differnce with ARM is that ARM makes money!!! | dickdasterdly10000
22/8/2003 16:20 | shes ticking up some big buys to be reported after the bell imo 2 mms just moved up 4 left on the offer | chicken
22/8/2003 16:13 | tonyleongson Any tips for a buy and hold? Hehe - a chance to ramp :) TCY (Telecity) 9.25p - 9.75p NAV 17p approx Turning profitable Interims due in around 2-3 weeks (been delayed but not put the share price off) My lowest target is 11p - 12p but two of us are hoping to see 17p before we sell most of our holdings. Other targets of 20p+ and one of 65/85p (can't remember). No bears to be found .... yet .... No need to DYOR :) | dontknowitall
22/8/2003 16:12 | Tony, I wouldn't pretend to be able to offer you any worthwhile tips. I just bumble around like most people. Today has just been one of those fantastic days. I hold 8 stocks and 5 are up and 3 no movers. Two of those up are ARK and DWM, both double digit, and also CKSN about 6-7%. Also getting the timing right for ARK was just plain lucky, buying this morning at 22p (and a week ago at 21.5p). But like you I know very well it could all go wrong next week. However I do firmly believe that over the next few months the lectronics/tech sector will do well. | kiwihope
22/8/2003 16:07 | Level 2 ticking up again 1 bid 1 offer | chicken
22/8/2003 16:06 | i know its difficult isnt it. i'm holding AZM for oct/dec as there is TREMEDOUS upside with them. but i think maybe i shouldve taken some profits earlier in the week and bought back in. one day i'll be happy! have you got any tips for me? anything worth buying and holding? cheers | tonyleongson |
