mad4IT, yes sorry about the link, could you tell me how to edit the HTML please?

US SOX index has taken a beating of late - SIA report, valuation downgrades, earnings -, if it can bounce today there is some hope.

I note that online Buy size via comdirect has dropped markedly, was 250K now ~50K only.

Yeah, but only one mm has moved up to the offer, the other 2 MMs on 24p are unchanged.

The MMs on ARK are some of the nastiest around for 'fun & games 'with the share price. IMHO many of them are in collusion to manipulate the price and have been for a long, long time.

Nevertheless, this is sitting at a, ridiculous, 50% discount to cash, with low cash burn and therefore looks an excellent buy again at these levels.

...so I've started to accumulate again.

p.s. can you shorten that link please nurOmancer, it's stretching the thread.

RSI is so low it's almost off the chart, slow stochastics look ready to cross up from a low base. Online purchase size reduced from 250K to 100K, despite there being 3 MM's on new higher Offer price.

Looks interesting, few 100K Buys & a 100K MM Buy gone through. ARK has way underperformed recently, in the wake of the buyback. Time for a move up?

symbol, try soing some simple reading

162.4m shares were bought back leaving 143.1m.

hence if you had 10k shares your skake rises from 0.003% to 0.007% or if you had 5,992,099 ordinary shares your stake rises from 1.96% to 4.19%...........

from todays RNS...

Mourant & Co. Trustees Limited, as the trustees of the ARC
International PLC Employee Benefit Trust, has not changed its holding
of 5,992,099 ordinary shares. However, as a result of the reduction in
the issued share capital arising from the recent tender offer this now
represents 4.19 % of the issued share capital.

IP Companies Talk Consolidation as Cash Pressures Rise

By David Manners -- Electronics Weekly, 2/25/2003

Further consolidation in the IP industry is inevitable as companies run out of money as venture funding dries up, said a panel at the Globalpress Leading the Recovery conference in Monterey, Calif. this week.

"There are too many IP companies to survive," said Mike Gulett, CEO of ARC, "And the consolidation has started. We have $160 million in cash which is way more money than we need to run the company, so we're spending half of that buying back our shares, so the remaining shareholders will double their stake in the company."

Gulett added that single component companies -- on the ARM model -- would find it more difficult to survive than companies with a broad product base. "There may not be a future for the single component company," he said "The market is not big enough." ARC has just diversified into the WiFi 802.11 wireless LAN business.

Bernie Rosenthal senior VP at Tensilica reckoned that the royalty model might not be enough for IP companies to survive -- especially when your customers aren't shipping much product. He believes that selling subscriptions to its services, as Tensilica did, was a better way to get income. "You have try something different to find new ways of making money," he said.

A third member of the panel, Duane Smith, a VP at 3DSP had a more traditional way of refinancing. "3DSP has just completed another round of VC funding," he said. However, that is becoming increasingly difficult without giving away to the VCs a large proportion of the company.

Maestro:.....Don`t you mean DIRECTORS playing games?

I wait with curiosity for the time being, to see if there were ANY winners.
ps: Most companies that have cancelled shares over the last few years , have NOT produced benefits for their shareholders.
