ENI have exercised an additional slot on Tungsten Explorer meaning Venus appraisal program unlikely to start until back end of Q4, or later.

did see that, not remotely bothered, i think it was the way they applied from what i read

will reapply and get it done, i think these green maneouvers will be stopping soon, and SA are fully on board with getting their own oil and gas

AFE moving up very nicely, deadline is sept 6th, so the application should be on time and all is going well i believe

more to AOI, and if gazania hits then can see AOI getting near $3

oil back as well, these ridiculous shake downs and manipulation are seriously laughable

if you follow reco in namibia, they are moving too......

Bit of a potential red flag for further offshore South Africa seismic surveys

Just read the post together with subsequent comments posted by others who had enjoyed a closer relationship with Ray. A sad loss indeed.

I had a feeling that he is probably no longer with us. Great pity if that is the case. He would have been highly satisfied with the present situation at Opti and Skinbio - he never was much of a fan.

Upstream on-line:-

TotalEnergies readies wildcat campaign for southern Africa

French supermajor could potentially spud up to five wells in acreage offshore South Africa that is almost untouched by the drillbit

24 August 2022 10:46 GMT UPDATED 24 August 2022 10:50 GMT
By Iain Esau in London

TotalEnergies is planning a major wildcatting campaign offshore South Africa, a move set to attract the opprobrium of the nation’s anti-fossil fuel campaigners.

After decades of seismic being shot and wells being drilled in South African waters with no protests, this last year or so has seen campaigners go to the courts to try to prevent upstream operations taking place.

Shell is awaiting a court ruling on whether it can resume seismic work off the south coast, while another survey off the west coast was unable to start due to a legal issue.....

Can't imagine S. Afr is going to sit back and let Namibia take all the limelight, but even so, it's about time Pretoria, Bloemfontein, and Cape Town got their E&A enabling act together!

pure guess, but that is an interesting question.......with all oil there is gas, which would be easier to take off, and in the samller cases they flare it off, but for condensate......would think they do that onshore. almost all oil is technically hydrocarbon sludge anyway made up of lots of things (why its always called boe)

but i'm purely just thinking that through.....dont care either way, its better than water :-)

Don't ask me. I'm not an oil man! Just checking last AE presentation; slide 8 says existing pipeline from F-A Platform to Mossel Bay "210 mmscfd + 15K bbl/day Cond". So I guess that is the 1st 15K/day taken care of (assuming F-A Platform has capacity, which it must, as Mossel Bay LPG is shut in afaik). Looks like they only need to build a 120km new gas line from Luiperd to the F-A Platform. Anyway, doesn't the condensate get stripped out at the onshore facility, rather than on the offshore platform?

you sound like a real oil man! gazania worries a bit, and not sure why, and eco certainly arn't doing the business share price wise, so certainly looking to cut my holding pre-result, they just dont seem to either be that lucky or seem to get acreage that maybe is not that desirable except 3b/4b

i'm sure for they can get the condensate out of 11b/12b, its fairly std isnt it ?
