21/2/2022 12:29 | no idea where they got the 10k from, unless i mis-heard it, clearly 30k + but that was a while ago, maybe it was the first initial deal where aoi were getting less of the percentage from prime, before they went all in | martinfrench
21/2/2022 11:52 | They have the rig until 1 March. 'Take advantage of this pullback,' says Morgan Stanley executive who sees buying opportunities amid Russia-Ukraine tension. 10k? Explain this? Pareto also does Sponsored research for Africa Energy and receives compensation from the company for this service. | trbutler
21/2/2022 10:56 | re Upstream article Upstream first reported rumours Shell hit significant oil at Graff Namibia. They were spot on. Now they say rumours has it Total also hit oil and that it is huge, larger than Shell. Actually so important they informed the President of Namibia. This while McKenzie said Shell hit 700 million barrels. Shell obvioulsy keen to know extent as they are drilling again straight off. If Upstream rumours are right again about the thick resevoir in Venus this hit will be much more. So just sell off .. there should be buyers even without a strike as strong earnings gets stronger :-) | trbutler
21/2/2022 10:48 | worrying he hasnt logged in at all....hope he is ok | martinfrench
21/2/2022 10:25 | Ray, better now? | trbutler
18/2/2022 16:40 | Pretzel Logic. You have shares in a small upstream company. They are really performing have lots of cash and own capital per share more than price per share. Then you get info they hit oil and it's probably huge. So you sell. | trbutler
18/2/2022 10:45 | hxxps://neweralive.n it all comes from that 1 upstream article unfortunately but still | martinfrench
18/2/2022 10:18 | not my sort of company.....i'll find something oil down on ukraine easing and deal maybe being struck with iran (bet they wouldnt do a nuclear deal at $60) !!! | martinfrench
18/2/2022 09:38 | Safe bet with 10% dividends SSAB | trbutler
18/2/2022 09:31 | need a top up on something, not sure what, tharisa, sylvania and africa oil are my untouchable shares, and by far biggest holdings (well over 60%), so will decide, and have more than enough AFE the problem is i dont rfate TRP, I do like pan continental but very illiquid and AFE own a chunk, ECO you are exposed to by AOI, so hmmmmm not too sure, prob just chuck it into AOI or THS is expect | martinfrench
18/2/2022 09:24 | Albeit Upstream themselves aware of it and says so in my opinion they ARE a leading source of info when it comes to early drilling news. Keith said the share buyback is something they don't need to go through many approvals with the TSX. It's something that they basically do a filing, and they can do relatively quickly. EVEN before 28th. | trbutler
17/2/2022 19:59 | i think the obvious game for upstream is to always get in early (no idea how they do it) and get people to pay for subscriptions, so they cant talk too much BS if they always get the lead on well success i can see the subscription being rather popular, though the headline probably says enough | martinfrench
17/2/2022 16:04 | Hopefully UPSTREAM source is spot on: "another informed exploration contact said initial results are “very, very encouraging”, suggesting that Venus-1 had hit oil and gas in “a very thick reservoir”. | trbutler
17/2/2022 12:01 | yes on the venus graff JV, the seismics indicate they are the same fault line, that would be interesting, and prob lower cost could also be bought out by shell, no idea what impact would do if they do find oil at venus, but being private not sure what they are into, might just be explorers and take the cash all very hypothetical at this stage of course.... | martinfrench
17/2/2022 11:36 | Target for graff-1 was "potential >1 Billion Bbls " at least in December 2021 from initiated oil company source. Venus same source: "potential 1.5-2 Billion Bbls " However, compare the area and assume same thickness, then Venus might be the size of Graff multiplied with ten or more. Venus actually might even stretch into the geology west of TotalEnergies’ block 2913B. AOI / Impact farmed into Block 2912 3 years ago for a reason that will slowly gradually be disclosed. That said Venus might also stretch into the geology east of TotalEnergies’ block (Shell) and there is a possiblity they will extract Venus and Graff oil in a JV. | trbutler
16/2/2022 20:36 | just read the full article on fbook aoi group, it doesnt say much more with a few observers saying be prudent at this stage, are still in the resevoir, no comment from Total etc, with also a few saying very very encouraging etc | martinfrench
16/2/2022 18:51 | the tsx doesnt really seem to be pushing aoi that much, todays rise could have easily been achieved on todays oil price alone should be extra bits prob tomorrow / friday with the official result next week if graff anything to go by | martinfrench
16/2/2022 16:25 | Only rumours but rumours to like ·´¯).·´¯).·´¯) | trbutler |
