Martin READ Upstream has it the well results to date are “exceptional” and that TotalEnergies and its partners — Qatar Energy, Impact Oil & Gas and state-owned Namcor — are “absolutely shocked” by the size of the discovery.
“It’s beyond their wildest dreams; it’s massive; it’s an elephant discovery,” the source said.

1. I BELIEVE IT IS MASSIVE a MAMMUTH discovery
2. I guess we will not know the size for a while but rough estimates is fine with me I guess maybe 6 billion?
3. I have no info if available.
4 Contract was scheduled to end Jan then FEB No extension known as far as I know. The latest info from Maersk is that it is avalable from 1 March 2022. To me this means (if they do as Shell) Total could extend contract or more wells straight away if they do find oil. That will be even more exciting.

have a few questions for you regarding your expectations....:-)

1. you are pretty much already believing this is a hit ?
2. the only thing to be resolved if above is true, is the size ?
3. drill ship will be re-signed for second well in the coming months or straight away ?

regarding shorts, yes 300k isnt huge but when they become all buys, that might be a nice juicy 10-15 on share price why anyone would short aoi is totally beyong me, and since we are a yr high, they will all be out of the money.....


as results are 28th and drill ship is until march (is that start of march or end of ?)

Will be very interesting to follow how they will be able to cover shorted 295,730 shares (as of 15 FEB), all TSX. Not that much but still. Venus, not rumours, but real official statments might be here in just a few days. The rig leased only until March. They will either have to cover before the share takes off or they might have to do it parallel to a share buyback program and a time when it becomes obvious to most investors this share is a shining bargain.

NOTE the details of the shareholder capital return program will be communicated with the company's full-year results on 28 February 2022. (today and two more trading days to cover)

300 mmboe estimted to recover 204 mmboe isn't gigant neither is it a small field and enough to make a difference on Engina production for quite some years. You are right abt decline if nothing is done but it will be. Still as usual decline there is.

Nigeria will be around for many more years than 7... At least these fields will produce 2-4 times longer than seven.

well the sell option isnt for me, the other 2 are, i just ponder whether to top up or not, the only dilemma

from this position or much earlier you cant really lose with AOI, if its a duster, keith will have a cheaper target to buy back shares, and nigeria will be around for 7 or so years

it would be a slight dampner, but aoi will get there in the end, and ive always said $10 in 3-4 years maybe sooner with venus and afe getting full value

Agree. It doesn't necessarily mean more oil. We don't know util we know. Nothing is for sure. To buy keeep or sell you have to draw some conclusions from all the bits and pieces including the seismic, the rumours adding the exitement shown in this case by Will and so on..and you could end up wrong. It could just be a tiny tiny hydrocarbon smellning vein stuck into non-porous source rock just above a lot of water in the bottom. Most of it might have migrated up to Graff-1 level. I am just as convinced as I can possible be when putting it all together.

on the seismic it certainly is a bigger trap than graff, of that no doubt, but doesnt necessarily mean more oil, would depend on the initial migration from source rock and of course the permeability (plus seal will need to be good as well)

yes of course management know, they would have had regular updates on this

absolutely no news is a bit unusual, would at least have expected that they reached target depth and are analysing results, but we dont even have that

dont mind, all will come out in the end, and this could be a hell of a week for aoi, what with the year end results next monday

cant possibly think of a better share anywhere to be in at the moment.

What there is to know Keith knows and you can be sure that the Lundin family knows too. William Lundin can certainly not tell the audience, but his formulations and his excitement are quite telling. There is a quite good possibly, from leaked information, this will fundamentally transform this small oiler. A vaste mammuth discovery will do just that. But until official results, you would not even call it a discovery if it was just a water-bearing sand. The extent is something we may not even get to know this or next week, but I'm convinced that if there is a good oil-bearing sand, it will also be enormous. Just look at the seismic and compare the size. Roumours has it bigger than Graff-1 and that is already huge.

one question.....when he says...."This year in Block 2B in South Africa, and that's also within the same Orange Basin that that impact is associated with total who just drilled that that Venus? Well, so you know, bearing those. Those results come out, and I think they're going to look pretty pretty promising"

he is referring to 2B or is he hinting at venus ?
