Oh its definitely happening. You can look at IG customer service twitter feed.
I'm just not sure the list is 100% of what is happening, it could easily get added to in the coming days one would guess.

No. IG run both CFD and Speadbetting accounts. They are different.
However I read earlier that they are making this change for CFD AND spread betting accounts. No proof that is correct as all my information is second hand. I don't have any of the stocks on the list as a spreadbet (and have never used my CFD account)

If a share is moving to 100% margin then those holding positions have to find extra cash to fund their positions or face having forced sales.

Save if you have professional certification and have put in place appropriate request for segregation of funds - but then that exposes you to existential risk on part element of any funds held not covered by regulatory scheme if IG fold and so on.

Overall the list is not loaded with value plays but some odd entries in the list as well.

I understand that I G will require 100% funding going forward when buying certain shares. That is their prerogative. This has been the case for some time with Orphan. Am I to understand that if we currently hold shares bought on margin, this will have to be rectified to 100% paid for within 30 days? Seems recto-active and Draconian.

on the list, of note to people here I see,,,

GFM, PLUS, ORPH, TXP, AMC, VRS, EVR, QFI, SHG, SVL, UFO, CNG, HIVE, STCM, 3LSI, PDN

there may be more as I can't recall everything we're into :-),,,

for me in particular it might provide a top up / buying opportunity in;

TXP, ORPH, GFM, AMC (maybe), UFO, CNG, STCM....

we shall see.. are we sure of the list provenance!?

Up the pool ... open the 'tear sheet' on IG for the stock affected & IG gives you some very basic data on how many people are in the stock and if they are long/short.Virtually all IG stocks report punters are 100% long at all times, particularly as obvious AIM short candidates never seem to have any borrow available on them

Cheers guys, understand now.So, it'll depend very much on the book size IG hold on individual stocks as to how much share price volatility there will be on said individual stock.Is there any mechanism for finding out how much IG hold of a particular stock, as some of mine are on the list?
