For my holdings I have just checked on IG:-

ARB, PPC, FRES, HUM, TSG, ALTN, EVG, XTR and AAZ do not seem to be affected.

CEY, HOC, SHG, RMM, STCM, AMC, DDDD and ORPH are now closing only.

Neither of those are marked as closing only so far, so it’ll be interesting to see what happens with them.

I had a couple of chunky positions in EML and PXC that I closed on Friday. I still have lots of shares in them but they were ones I didn't want to have to get out of in a hurry. Everything else is manageable for me, but really it's very poor to not have a list, to not give greater warning, and to not give the same warning to everyone at the same time.

Re IG - most of the shares impacted will be speculative junk that one ought not to have been holding anyway.

Hi odsjp

AVCT looks a good bet net week but i don't have any so wont pick

DDDD Momentum swing has begun
XTR expect news on third hole, looks like it could be big, chart looks good lots of spinning tops could be a good spike north on news.
dropping ujo could be a share consolidation no movement at west newton also out for now
Ufo also cheers AV.

IG don't always lay all bets off .. the vast majority they seem to but, i am aware of a few I've taken where the trade has never printed and never cleared after hours either but, this only seems to be small bets on obscure stocks where you are the only one opening a position. If you then continue to add to that position & it grows beyond a certain size then, they obviously become aware of a growing position and start to lay it off. I assume it's a bit like self-insuring.

Anyone using Plus500 should read that thread too - I thought these days that all providers lay the bet/trade off in the mkt. Apparently Plus500 don’t, I thought that practice went out with the ark..!

From that Twitter thread the one that is most talked on here that I’ve seen is ORPH
ARB isn’t marked as closing only at the moment. I’ve no insight other than the Twitter thread claims that’s the giveaway.

If the list is truly 600-1000 in size, then I’d be surprised if some hadn’t at least been mentioned here. There’s roughly somewhere between 2000-2500 companies on AIM and standard market listing. That’s a big percentage, meaning IG would appear to have had enough of certain sections of the market? First big question is, is it really that many stocks? Second, and more importantly, will other providers take up the slack or follow suit?

Regarding the IG situation. I cannot see many shares mentioned on here that are on the list. CEY and HOC are two of the companies affected.

Looks like AVCT will get a boost on Monday. Wonder if Bojo will mention on his Monday meeting. KS - I expect a £1M on Friday.

Wakeem is a smart cookie. As I understand it the “600-1000̶1; are stocks worldwide, not just UK. I’m pretty sure I know some of the UK names on that list without seeing it. Worth reviewing holdings in heavy retail favorites though hopefully this will cause more rotation rather than exiting. $GME was always likely to cause ripples.

Edit: according to wshak mainly UK. Plus didn’t realize they’re not just moving to 100% in these names but actually forced closing after 30 days, even if you do go to 100%! Go non segregated and you can probably get round this, not that that’s a good idea.

A highly respected twitter user confirms the IG rumour. More details in the thread...

"WShak @WShak1

Will be an interesting week in many favourites. IG Group is exiting the market in 600-1000 highly speculative companies, and they will be requiring 100% margin from Friday.

What does providing 100% margin buy you? Another 30 days to close positions entirely. They want out. #IGG"

we will find out soon enough about that c0lin1 but, that is not my reason for picking AAZ.

Everyone knows I'm a chartist & AAZ has finally given me the signal I've been waiting over 18 months for so, I'm backing my interpretation of the long-term chart.
Don't ask me to explain please. I am well aware that few, if any, care for my chart interpretations / tea-leave divinations.

fwiw, I also believe we're pretty much at the lows for Gold right now. Whilst it's hard to determine what exactly will cause it to make the next upward move & most of the herd are forecasting it will go lower (as they all were Autumn 2018), I believe it is from around this level that it will do so.

Silver seems to be gradually carving out a big, big long-term bowl. I have not spent enough time tracking or charting yet just yet but, i suspect there will be large fortunes made in Silver over the next 5 years.

Odsjp.
Many thanks. Keep up the good work that you are doing. It is fun for the youngsters and some oldies.
I just don't bother that much these days. I have 7 shares in my portfolio and only one sleeping dog. Se how thing go overall in the future is not important to me these days.
I wish everyone good luck and happiness too.
ATB all. In what ever you are invested in. Just remember money will give you security but you won't buy happiness with it. Just stay safe. Life matters.
