20/2/2021 10:23 | Odsjp, I'll go back to all in AVCT please, if the Huff Post article has just a modicum of truth to it then surely our time has come | indyanna
20/2/2021 09:57 | I've no idea what IG are up to, it's all word of mouth right now but if they are requiring people to increase their margin from 25 to 100% for small cap stocks it needs much more than a weeks notice. Otherwise it could lead to a lot of weakness as it doesn't take much volume to cause big movement in small capsOn crypto I see Siam Kidd on twitter called BTC to 50k about a year ago and is now calling a crash. When something has absolutely no fundamentals I'm not sure there's anything sensible anyone can say other than they think it might go up or down. The fact that it is being suggested that Bitcoin has transformed Iran's finances might give pause for thought though. | donald pond
20/2/2021 09:35 | He’s been abducted! Someone help us find the real brasso :D | jbravo2
20/2/2021 09:34 | That will explain some of the selling pressure in certain stocks. Things not going your way, just change the rules. An ok week though, pound at 1.40 against the dollar and 1.15 in euroland, far enough for now. Great news for Avct and Odx, well done to all who steadfastly held positions. Orph had a good week after months of sideways and down so well done to holders there as well. Arb continues to be the gift that keeps on giving and I am unashamedly along for the ride. Again my thanks to Brasso who kept on going on about Bitcoin and pointed me in the right direction, it’s been emotional! | fozzie
20/2/2021 09:27 | I think crypto is due a rest next week. I will take the following:- XTR - Drill 3 results should be in. UFO - I think there is a lot upward pressure on silver waiting to be released. PPC - Operational update due on Monday. Should be good with high Brent oil prices. | brasso3
20/2/2021 09:26 | DP any idea what is the reason for this? Cant be bothered with PIs anymore as professionals spend more and can complain less? | pogue
20/2/2021 08:50 | Oh blimey. That’s not good. Whilst I’m not so bothered about 100% margin, if they move to closing only that will be a blow to my future plans. I was thinking I’d be doing a lot more spreadbetting in the future if CGT does change this budget. I was going to move all my trading outside my ISA to s/b via IG. | jbravo2
20/2/2021 08:15 | Apparently IG are going to move 1,000 UK stocks to 100% margin requirement next week and possibly to closing only. I'm not certain, they have been phoning people up and I've not had the call yet but someone told me EML was affected so I closed my SB there yesterday. I also as a precaution closed by PXC Sb, both of those were large enough to be potentially illiquid.I had a high profile investor on the phone to me furious about it, so we'll have to see what pans out. | donald pond
20/2/2021 07:22 | Sprott buying 3 million ounces of silver for the PSLV. | c0lin1

19/2/2021 22:30 | odjspNext week a 50/50 split between ECR ... assays or JV RNS possible XTR ... news of further Copper mineralisation due on both grades and size Thanks | onedayrodders
19/2/2021 22:19 | I have been reading the LSE thread on AVCT - that is where the Huffington Post article was first linked as far as I can tell; similar articles are also in the Mirror, Sun, Sharebuyers website and elsewhere - looking good :) | king suarez
19/2/2021 22:15 | The required spreadbetting margin was increased to 100% this week by IG on a number of stocks including CEY and HOC. Perhaps this is just the start..more stocks to follow in the coming weeks perhaps? | kfr20
19/2/2021 21:48 | Thanks KS. I have held AVCT for sometime. Great find. ATB. | bwana4
19/2/2021 21:46 | I've not heard anything about that DP, but, I could see the recent reddit gamestop situation giving IG food for thought!!!! hmm, cheers Wan :-) | wanobi
19/2/2021 21:45 | Fantasic find, thanks for posting KS. 'Once regulators approve the Avacta test, it is expected to be ready for a rollout in huge numbers across the country by early April. Specialist British manufacturers BBI and Abingdon, which produce the Avacta-designed test, are on track to help meet a target of providing two million tests a day after Easter.' Easter being the 4th of April | droyden
19/2/2021 21:43 | what's the rumour, DP? | mattjos
19/2/2021 21:41 | DP- MF. Congratulations on your old friend Zoo Digetal buy. Doubled your money on there. Thank you for your contributions. Great stuff and ATB. | bwana4

19/2/2021 21:33 | very interesting news that KS,,, many thanx for posting it here, cheers Wan :-) | wanobi
19/2/2021 21:33 | I'll have to have a look at PLTR myself, Dave got shook out but he'll be back there no doubt. My biggest worry right now is the rumour that IG are going to ruin the spreadbetting fun in the small cap sector. Picture should be clearer next week but rumours aren't good | donald pond
19/2/2021 21:31 | steady on cmb :-),,, too many beers is not so good,,,, just enough is great though,,, respect to you for helping others, as always, and, please, you are not an odd ball,,, like all of us, you are unique and that's to be celebrated... :-) :-) cheers Wan :-) | wanobi
19/2/2021 21:27 | aha, there you are DP,,, please thank Dave for me,,, I made a few quid spread betting palantir this evening, enough for the weekend beers,,, had to give it a go after that fall,,,, and suspect it'll soon be back up to ATH's again soon enough, cheers Wan :-) | wanobi |
