90% of the time, when you get these big Gap up rises on news, existing holders simply trim some stock into the rise because 'news items' are rarely such that the company valuation warrants an immediate and sustained uplift. Exciting, maybe but, does the news usually result in an immediate, tangible & sustaining increase in $$$'s ??

not often is the answer and so, the excitement inevitably dims and selling sets in again.
Those that took the opportunity to sell out some/all their stock into the rise will inevitably look to buy back their position as at the valuation immediately before the big upward move occurred.

This is the 'psychology' that so, so often results in news-driven gap-ups getting filled … once they are filled then, the stock will generally resume the prior trend

I also think that is what SPA have done....and to fair to them they will be awaiting AAZ's production guidance which will include u/g g/t statistics etc....Production should be better than the Note from what we know.....IMHO

I doubt that will be the production target for next year (AAZ advise in February) with everything we know about Gedabek u/g (down dip, grades etc.). My assumption is that SPA are just reacting to the last RNS and extrapolating this forward to next year.

CEY suffering today. I see GPM up around 100% for the year. While I am happy with a lot that AAZ have achieved (though not the SP) I'm increasingly of the belief that if you want exposure to gold the Ruffer fund or an ETF like GDX is the way to go. Diversified, focussed on the big North American producers, much less individual company risk. To justify for the increased risk investing in a small single company like AAZ, the upside has to be significantly better. I'm hoping that in the coming weeks we see that upside start to come into focus. If 72k is the production target for next year, that's really not good enough.

Taken the opportunity to add to my ORPH holding on this pullback, they won’t be down here in 3-6 months in my view.

I pay little attention to share price Angel forecasts, there is way more collective knowledge on this board, frankly. But it is very disappointing that they are still showing Dividend Yield (DY) rather than Dividend Per Share (DPS). Apart from being out of date as soon as the price moves, it also means that the Stock Screeners like Stockopedia, Sharescope etc. will still not pick up the forward yield - which for calendar year 2021 should be ~10%. Only existing holders or those digging a bit deeper are likely to realise this. Ho Hum!

I think the production figures for next year in that SPAngel note are too low. 72k GEO can't be right when we were pulling over 6k a month out in July and August and were told going into the dip down would significantly increase production for the rest of the year.I would like to know more about the dip down, in terms of grades, how much we anticipate processing each month and how long it will contribute to output. Because I had in mind it would be adding at least 1k a month to output in order to justify the earlier statement that Q4 would make up any shortfall in H1.

Ironically, I first started researching gold miners when it looked like Trump might become President (boom/bust, general craziness - little did I know just how crazy) and AAZ was one of a handful that I took an initial position in. On the night of the election I was sat in a bar in California as Trump's victory was confirmed and fully expected a positive reaction from gold (it fell). Now here we are four years later and the irony is that a Biden victory is likely to be most positive for gold and AAZ is now the only gold miner that I own (I do have some BRWM for exposure to the majors). We have come full circle and now I expect that gold will be the major play for the next four years and AAZ shareholders will be significant beneficiaries. Certainly, that is how my portfolio is positioned.

We will take £2.00 for a start Matt.
That looks a healthy note. For a onlooker the consistend profit groath and dividends should make the company very inviting.

I believe their Gold price forecasts for 2021 are much too low at $1,925.
I'll be surprised if gold averages below $2,000 for 2021 but, best to be conservative at this stage.
I am expecting Gold to run up as we near the USA election, settle back a bit Nov & December & then take off on a huge run toward $2,400 early 2021.

Agree Simon, I think the demographics are a real key issue. With ageing populations it will be difficult to get growth: the older you are the more frugal you are as you are compelled to spend on either essentials or healthcare. No impulse buys from BOO or blow out parties. So without growth, there's not much left other than keeping money flowing through central bank printing. It is quite frightening really.
