Wan ELY have been quite stellar and across the water has a big fan club, hopefully this might be one of your breakaway gaps. If it is, I’ll probab cash a little in and top up Nomad, another royalty company that is still finding base and early days.

Welcome back mikro1. A good decision, imo.Mr. Vee - any and all well-researched posts are always most welcomeGold bottomed in 2015 at 1050 and then spent a long time going sideways as the pressure built in consolidation off the lows.That dynamic then very dramatically altered in August 2018 .. just as early signs of the QE fuelled relentless rise in markets started to show some early fissures as a result of stupid FED trying to both raise rates and deleverage at the same time - those actions nearly broke the camels back & from August 2018 the FED has been on the back foot, desperately trying to backpedal and keep some last remaining credibility.Gold noticeably moved up a gear then and has since risen $600 over the last 22 months.At current rate of appreciation, I expect to see my minimum gold target of $2,600 arrive during Spring 2023 but, whilst price targets are easy to predict on charts, the timeframes are not.This virus & the resultant Central Bank action may very well further accelerate Gold's rate of price appreciation .... one thing is for sure: it's going to get bought hard as/when it clears $1,900 & the chains holding it back finally snap.

Quote from today’s RNS;

“There have been no significant subsequent events requiring further announcements by us. Nevertheless, I can assure shareholders that it is the Company's understanding that the Government of Azerbaijan has no intention to nationalise, purchase or otherwise take control of Anglo Asian Mining or its assets in Azerbaijan.”

If anyone is in need of more assurance re the last statement above and of the trust between AAZ and the Azerbaijan government – please read on;

Below are 5 bullet points taken from Omni law firm website under heading “what we do”.
• advising an international mining company on sub-soil, tax and licensing matters of Azerbaijani law and aspects of bidding for exploration and development of gold mines in Azerbaijan;

• advising in connection with transfer of participating interest in the production sharing agreements;

• advising numerous PSA and HGA sub-contractors on all aspects of tax, customs, commercial, employment laws and general compliance and regulatory matters;

• handling tax audits and tax litigations for PSA sub-contractors, which involved interpretation of PSA provisions and their interplay with statutory tax regime;

• advising a foreign investor on purchase of shares of a state enterprise in mining industry and matters relating to fulfillment of the privatization investment program;

We know that Azerbaijan ministry of economy used a firm called Omni for consultation re a possible “transaction”, I think the above bullet points would indicate that AAZ have also used Omni for their advice. So you have to come to the conclusion that the discussion around that table is all about exploring all possible options to get the gold out of the ground asap to the advantage of all parties whilst fulfilling all the relevant laws and customs. If the theme was to renationalise or some sort of takeover then different advisers would be imperative for both sides.

Reading between the lines it looks like, they were trying to shoehorn Azergold into the equation, that being said they might still conclude the easiest option is to just offer AAZ more ground and keep them separate.
We might not even hear any more about the “transaction” , maybe they conclude it`s a dead end, but I am quite sure of one thing and that is : the risk of our assets being renationalized or impaired by government , is virtually non-existent.
