So Link sold 13.1m (12%) to Acacia on 8th June and then sold 1.25m yesterday. Wouldn’t be surprised to see them being responsible for that further 2m that’s just popped up as they may want to dip below 10% mark. Could be they had to take full amount from Link but given share price strength this pm suspect they are finished and happy to hold now.

I agree BB, one of the Link funds was being liquidated, the Acacia fund is an ongoing specialist fund in this specific niche, makes no sense for them to sell the lot.

Perhaps after 5 years of being talked of in terms of reduced supply, copper is finally going to lift off? There's certainly a push to electrify everything particularly transport. Of course some 16 year old brat one day is going to pull the plug on the National Grids computer control system, but lets worry about that when it happens :¬)

If you want market madness then look at TSLA, CWR and Nikola SPs today. Valuations in parts of the next gen tech market are now extended beyond the .com bubble in terms of market cap to revenue/profit growth. Nasdaq is at all-time highs.

All i see going forward are redundancies and the potential for social unrest, due to inequality and the fallout from Covid-19. The markets are living in la-la-land.

Worse, genuine companies with stable prospects seem to be well and truly out of fashion.

When this bubble goes bang, it isn't going to be pretty at all...

The U.S. Dollar Index is finally in negative territory for the year, down 6.5% from its Mar. high. Speculators are still long, and are in for a lot of pain as the dollar's decline accelerates. Not only have budget deficits soared recently, but trade deficits too. Look out below.

Some forget that Gedabey was originally a prolific Copper producer for Siemens a long time back....

Yes, copper is not an inconsiderable contribution to annual revenues (10-15%).

Particularly with some of the excellent copper grades discovered on some of the exploration targets a rising copper price gives AAZ some added flexibility regarding the production profile going forward as it becomes more valuable?

If the world economies at some point recover substantially we could see a softening gold price, but a rising copper price due to industrial demand and could perhaps transition to more of a copper producer, with gold by-products? Just a thought..

baddeal1 "If you don’t like the spread don’t trade the share. Go elsewhere"

Quite a number on here claim to top slice 10% or spread bet before/during/after each RNS. Is that not trading? I imagine the shares just slosh around amongst us existing shareholders because no one new ever appears on the register.

K.S maybe the statement of meaningful economic value at STCM was recognition the share price had under performed and just trying to attract investors.

11%,

STCM debt - unsure. They paid down $8.2m in 2018, but only paid down $1.5m in 2019 - instead increasing the dividend payout. Presumably management are comfortable to have got the debt down to a low enough level to just chip away it now as the interest cost is not too onerous ($1.1m in year) and they are comfortably within banking covenants.

It was down to $10.3m at year end - if you look at Note 20 of the accounts, the bulk of loans are due to be repaid by Nov 2021, so my guess is that they will maintain dividend at 3p for next year - then hopefully start increasing the dividend from then onwards?
