15/4/2020 06:54 | Foresight is a wonderful thing. When a fall happens, and it always does,a lot sell out of fear. That fear even effects people that don't sell. Buy that i mean some will sell when the rise continues after the leg down they sell when they get into profit, just happy that they made a profit and never lost money on the fall. The real winners are those that see the fundamentals have not changed, continue to hold and buy more on the way down. Knowing that if the fundamentals have not changed the value is still there but now at a even better price. That is why people like Matt are always talking about how valuable a dividend is. It helps to know that you get paid for waiting for the value of a share to return fair value. I look more at the Gold price than the share price here. because that is what where the earning come from. On the last fall for AAZ and gold, gold went to a low of $1453, a fall of 14.5%. Now a gold price of even that or lower still gives a very good profit margin here. Now in that same time frame AAZ dropped 47%. Fundamentals had not changed, just ment profits were a little less. Now i did not buy any near the bottom at 70p. I got some i think around 80p was my lowest buy at that time. But you know we are still 10p lower than the 9 march when the fall started for gold. from that gold low of 1450, it took 2 days to get back to 1500, 2 days to get to 1600, and 16 days to 1700. How many days to 1800? | gold finger 1
15/4/2020 00:34 | @bozzy: i got some at 70.7p (lowest buy recently) but sold them around 100p, traded them a couple of times in that range, although my core holding plus an extra 15% bought on the way down are still sitting pretty. was going to get some more at 105p but missed out. greed and hindsight make me regret selling and not buying more at 105p but a profit is a profit and i hold plenty as it is, at least for me. i really feel sorry for people who got mugged out of their shares on the way down. i do hope the rise carries on, as everyone else has pointed out, we need to be much higher. although if there is another sell off, i'll try and make sure i leave no regrets :) GLA | doc_oj
15/4/2020 00:19 | Speaking for myself, I'm just relieved gold recovered quickly from the $1400s. It was a worrying few days, seeing AAZ and gold drop like stones. It's reassuring that most, if not all, regular posters on here at least kept their positions. Many, me included, added when AAZ was in double figures. It was obvious that the crash was temporary, and even with shrinking production AAZ was grossly under priced. Other than the allseeing one (a ramper at 140p, a seller at 83.2 / 82.6 / 82.0p, then a deramper at 90p upwards), everyone saw the value here. One or two on the Wan thread wrongly assumed the mine would close. And took exception to 'rose-tinted' posters on here. Didn't occur to them that 3 or 4 posters on here are better informed than them. Hopefully 2020 is on target, and just as importantly their plans unaffected by the virus. Who paid the lowest price in the sell-off? Did anyone buy at under 70p? Could be sitting on a 100% profit this week - with a decent trading update hopefully :) | bozzy_s

14/4/2020 23:08 | The lag in Q3 will be companies pulling back capel and consumers trying to survive on 80% for previous months. If they have still got a job. It’ll be about confidence and it takes time for people to feel confident to Spend | gutterhead
14/4/2020 21:43 | Yep took my profit in Roxg had a great run but watching it slip back late session, I cashed in at 95c. Took further profit in Gran Colombia and back to holding only half what I’ve had previously, the cushion there is my average is now back to only 18c, so pretty relaxed on any falls :) | riggerbeautz
14/4/2020 20:57 | Fellas, the bit that struck with me was “live to see another day...” :) | bumpa33
14/4/2020 20:52 | Mattjos, I tend to dissagree for this year I think Q3 will be higher than a 'normal Q3', sorry let me re-phrase that. I don't think, if lockdown goes on until mid June say, that many firms will let large swathes of their staff go on holiday. It might just make the difference between staying afloat and not. Or in an individuals case it might mean they keep their job rather than joining the dole queue. The government has already said that holidays lost this year can be rolled over for 2 years, as a result I think employers may be very keen to try and maximise what will remain of the rest of the year and spread holiday time out as much as possible for employees. | henwii

But you'll get the middle and live to see another day for it." Mike Taylor, 20yrs as a PM at one of the biggest hedge funds in the world. | bumpa33
