So far though ZHockey a rising POG has done very little for our shareprice. We need some positive news on debt, production and drilling if we are to move upwards unless there is some other transformational news in the pipeline. I hope that if we break 1300 in the next few days then we move upwards at last as the aforementioned updates are still some wayoff.

Jaspoland, IMO there are a lot of other gold producers/explorers that have momentum right now and they are attracting cash. If gold can hold above 1280 next week then I would be surprised if the AAZ share price does not respond.

Time will tell if valuations in the sector have structurally changed, a lot of experts were calling for gold to correct back to 1150. However surely the bulls will now have the momentum to push above 1300, now it is so close and over the downtrend line.

Jeanesy, the valuation has been ridiculous for ages. It needs a big piece of news to change the markets attitude. I wonder if there is one on the near horizon?

Jaspo, I'd be surprised if we were looking to raise money. As has been pointed out numerous times, Reza has resisted this from the off and his interests haven't changed as far as I can see. He still owns c.30% so if he can avoid it one presumes he will. But hey, anything is possible I guess.

The share price didn't go down on Friday, the mid point of the spread changed. A spread which was irrelevant as it wasnt being paid anyway. The price went very slightly up in reality but yes it is surprising more people haven't added recently especially with the POG. I haven't added this week but I've bought over 400k since the new tax year. So FWIW I think those who chose to add here have made the right decision, but I'm clearly no oracle and I guess everyone just has to make their own decisions on what's right for them.
:)
The next few months should be great though.

Agreed. Very odd that it didn't respond to the rise of gold yesterday. Makes me wonder if they are looking to raise money in the markets, hence it being held back. If Jbravo2 is right we should be filling our boots of AAZ at these prices. Exciting times.

The valuation here now is ridiculous. POG on a roll and lots of buys and yet the price goes down- truely ridiculous !

HG, sold OMI at 84p having bought at c27p; was in Venice when I sold, did I mind paying 50 euros for a few drinks in St. Marco with orchestra? Those were the days.
1st time I went I could only afford a bottle of coke.

I bought today and am surprised not to see this move in the right direction. It was a toss up between this and Omi!
If gold moves through $ 1300 then this will move up. $ 1311.70 is the 5 year down trend line to break then things will get very interesting.
Remember Reza has a c. 30% stake here + loans - his interests are absolutely aligned with shareholders.

In the the offer has just gone the real price it has been at all week. Maybe next week some profits will flow into AAZ.

It is a bit surprising the share price dropped today but that's the market I guess and money has gone elsewhere like omi.

Anyone else increased holding on the POG breakout today?

Re-purchased a slice sold earlier the moment POG broke away above $1280/oz.
That was clearly a key resistance level; now making fresh highs for this 4+month rally and $1300/oz may be attained during US trade.
No movement in the share price yet.
Seems to be a lot of fear/uncertaintly with perceptions for AAZ.
Can only suppose it's mostly Nagorno Karabak related; March production went OK after all.

My other play, Orosur [OMI] put on ~18% today, yet it seems arguably the lesser immediate beneficiary as acaled back operations/production last year [35k gold down from 55k last autumn, survival strategy: $950/oz AISC but net of minimal debt $4m in bank.].
Whatever, POG touched $1296/oz few minutes back; must be good portent.

Unionhall, I would guess about $1M, I expect they will cover out of cash flow however it should not not increase the net debt. Payback is likely to be pretty quick. Have you bought yet or biding your time?

Does anyone have a knowledgeable estimate of how much the new Sagmill will cost - I presume equipment like this is not cheap.

Will it cause the debt to increase again ?

Well I'm pleased everyone thinks 22p is either conservative or will be so easily achieved. As ilostthelot has said I'd take 300% in 8 months. I'm not anticipating that the rise will end after 8 months. The next few years are now going to be a tale of a climbing share price.
