Whilst you'r.e all on about shorting here and gold, don't forget at some point those positions have to be closed, which is how we got from 1200 to the present 1734. My book says 2200 is on the cards it just doesn't say when

Did anyone else get in on that TOM debacle?
I jumped in when it was already 100% up and I’m 41% up already...it’s hilarious

I have to say the no news regarding the Q1 exploration,or the delay is not helping here.
We have also had a long delay on the Jorc results, now expected Q3.
I have more money to invest in here or elsewhere. But i don't trust the main market at all. I have a lot of money in here as it is. I would just like a little more positive news,no, not positive but some meat on the bone. Something that will push us forward a step or two, instead of news that is good but never moves us forward.

Incredibly consistent drop off in volume over last 3 months. Coupled with share price moving into a tight band suggests an explosive move is likely

That was quick! Was a GS paper showing link between price of gold and real inflation rates (ie inflation minus interest rates). Good correlation and for next few years expectancy that rates will stay rock bottom while governments try to create inflation

Clarification and/or progress on talks between Aaz and Azeri govt is due as must be at an advanced stage.

I’m left thinking/speculating that exploration update/results and delayed jorc(due Q3/20) are somehow tied into topic of talks, the last statement being...

a journey always starts with a small step … let's make sure the small step up today in AAZ is the start of the journey higher! ;-)

From around 45 mins in this weeks IC podcast there is a good chat about research showing that low liquidity is generally linked to longer term outperformance

Yes, seems quite bizarre that we have, effectively, just zigged & zagged over 12 months & gone absolutely nowhere for 12 months now.

19th June last year, Gold was just crossing the $1,350 line
On same date AA closed at £1.27

Today, Gold is at $1,730 (+28%) & AAZ is at £1.29 (+1.5%)

No matter the financial strength of the company now, as compared to then, the market cannot identify a strong enough reason to carry the value of the business any higher.

For all the investor concerns about not liking debt, wanting to see cash on the Balance Sheet et etc it is companies with debt & without cash that have outperformed AAZ by some considerable degree.

eg. My other ex-Soviet territory gold miner is CNG. That is loaded with debt & has many so called 'red flags' yet it has risen from 3.5p to 12.5p in the exact same timeframe.

Anyway .. the longer they go sideways in consolidation, the sharper the resulting move when the necessary catalyst arrives. AAZ has got a helluva lot of ground to make up at some point soon

We were tracking the CEY share price closely for ages, then we just diverged for no apparent reason.

In the last year CEY has gone from 110 to 160 and if I recall correctly had a warning during that time. AAZ makes little sense to me

It is painful but it seems similar with main gold miners (eg. HUM, SHG, TSG, CEY).

I see we are about the same price we were a year ago too M-F. So nothing for having paid off all the debt, nothing for the $30+ millions in the Bank, and nothing for an improved divi or the increased value of gold.

ODX rumours of the placing started on twitter yesterday morning, hasnt actually killed the share price that much, but anybody trading on margin would have been screwed. Raising at 18p didnt do AVCT any harm. Now can ODX deliver, all the recruitment by members of the consortium, government backing and all the various posts in the media suggest they will. Time will tell.
