Rb - it was enabled by a whole host of entities that will now be sitting rather uncomfortably. The story goes back way before I got in, over a decade at least. At one point the stock was valued at €25b and the fintech darling of the DAX - there will be an army of shareholders baying for blood. Directors will be going to jail, Bafin will get roasted and I suspect there may be trials for some from the Munich prosecutors office too.

Learnt a heck of a lot from the experience with this one - and the difference between going after a bad company and a really BAD company.

Bumpa I remember you flagging it ages ago elsewhere, think most people have been dogs with a bone that shorted it, you just knew all along it was bad but the system kept propping it up.

ALTN on fire. I expect there will be an update for the AGM next week. They need to get the bonds away for the end of the month.

Anyone interested in the Wirecard story should check out Dan McCrum’s original series of articles “House Of Wirecard” back in 2014 or 2015 from memory - should still be on FT Alphaville. Utterly astonishing they got away with it for so long.

Got it.

A badly written article it starts saying US oil production will half in the next year to 8 mbpd, the US has never produced 16 mbpd they peaked just over 11 last year, they have a chart showing 12mbpd but I would dispute that as well.
Anyway the drop was expected the drop off rate of shale is known and the number of rigs decommissioned shows they will not ramp up as fast however before we went into lockdown the market was over supplied and oil struggling to reach $60. OPEC+ were cutting about 2mbpd then, now about 10mbpd, so a loss of 3mbpd 11-8=3 or 12-8=4 depending on were you get your stats may not be enough to do anything as any oil company you listen to says they dont expect oil to comeback to anywhere near its pre CV19 peak of 105 mbpd for years.
As I always say this recovery is not about supply its all about demand and when and how much it will return, and nothing looks good for that right now.
