That would not surprise me in the slightest ...however don't see a crash as such just a long painful bear market for a few years significantly breaching March lows

Same here. I would rather miss out on some gains at this point and be more comfortable on the sidelines.

Around 20% cash at the moment. No long spreadbets.

Must admit I am getting itchy to sell some recent purchases and take profits and hunker down for the drop, the DOW and FTSE have a surreal feel.

I've added today. First buy since the coronavirus-driven bargains at 80 odd pence. Everything is pointing to some positive newsflow in the very near future.

38, self-unemployed as Del-boy would say, from Kent :) (I actually trade electronic components online)

The whole world follows the US, “fix” that and you’ve “fixed” everything - in a manner of speaking 🙄

The markets seem to be a very poor reflection of the economy at present. I know that the markets and the economy are a different beast but I do not get how the FTSE100 can be at 6000 pts. Likewise for the DJ and SP500.

Yes, just off the A38 :) think it moved to Droitwich before I was born (my mum used to teach at Droitwich High School prior to Dodderhill) - small world indeed!

Gold holding stead after the yanks tried to bash it down, as they appear to do every time their market opens. Looks like AAZ refusing to budge significantly until next news. Looking forward to reading those updated broker notes - assuming Hardman must be privy to some updated (positive) exploration news otherwise an updated broker note wouldn't make much sense?

Well, you could argue that 6 weeks of the S&P trading between 2800 and 2950, give or take, a range heavily supported by the futures mkt could allow for sizeable distribution over that period in readiness for Wave 2? Love a conspiracy theory :)

Surely its to soon for a second wave, those figures would relate to deaths in residential care homes i would thought ? They have always been behind the curve on those figures is my understanding.

Yep I know it, although Dodderhill girls school is now in Droitwich!

If you are interested in conspiracy theories here's a cracker.

They've reached agreements with a lot of news outlets and some testing agencies to give the market a 24-48 hour buffer wherein they will suppress stories about how the reopening is causing the 2nd wave far worse than imagined. Once they see new cases and new deaths rising at a certain rate, the narrative will lag behind a day or two to the public, but the numbers will be passed on to those manipulating the markets.

Maybe wan, though they’re heavily bid - Singers are quoting 100k above the mid at the mo, amongst others. Not much on offer.

Afternoon Wan,

Yep, pleasing to JSE and TXP on the rise today. It looked clear to me that TXP in particular was due to take off, so no surprise with the news flow coming. Looking forward to seeing the gas contract news and early estimates of minimum size of the find at Cascadura - just hope the market doesn't sell off on news if provisional estimates are lower than some are hyping up - we shall see.

Sorry to hear your situation Spidertricks, as it happens I went through exactly the same in Nov 2016, dad passed away, December my back gave in so had to give up my IT contract in Europe and come back to the UK, after an operation on the back, tried to get a job here in the UK (West Midlands) but I have a sneaky suspicion that ageism is alive and kicking as I haven't been able to find employment since (at 54 years), in the mean time spent our savings converting an annex into a holiday let and had a great first year last year with it which covers the bills, and hopefully my investments in AAZ, HUM and HOC will make up any shortfall over next few years. Really miss the old man, but the great memories certainly don't diminish, only get stronger!

Apologies for taking a slight detour on this great BB.

At 73 I thought that I might have been the oldest geezer here, but Gadolinium has saved my bacon! I ran my own company for 38 years and have just recently closed it down, mind you I have only worked part-time for the last few years.Lol.

Although I come from North London I have lived just north of Bedford for almost 50 years. Does that count as East Midlands?

BV

Ps. I am definitely bonkers as well!

Moderna limited phase 1 news and Powell promising to spend ‘til infinity yet again gapping the markets up. They’re in fairy land over there, but least it stretches the game out for a bit longer.

skeptic1, the important thing given their track record, is that whatever they say it will be genuine and true and you will be able to rely on it, unlike about 90% of AiM directors.

Lovely day for aaz again. So, prediction time! What do we think this week will hold? It doesn’t have to be restrained, if you think big things are coming! We know that news is imminent, but what do you think it will be? Does Bill M have something of note or will it be information we already know? You wont be held accountable if you are miles away ;-)
