conundrum, those are scary words for a newbie like me, but, hopefully I'll be ok :-)

Great WB advice, thanx for posting the link.....

Vintage Value Investing
Experience is the ultimate key to be a successful investor.

1. Diversification isn't always a good idea
Buffett waits for opportunities to buy good stocks, and when those opportunities come his way, he takes full advantage. According to Buffett, "When it's raining gold, put out the bucket not the thimble."

2. Invest in yourself first

3. Trust yourself to be a successful investor

4. Only make investments that you understand
If he's not able to understand it in 10 minutes, he moves on to evaluate another company on this basis.

5. Make sure you choose the right news to focus on
Buffett believes in the 99-1 rule. Most investors take actions based on 1% of the financial news they consume.

6. Buying a stock of a company is buying a part of a business

7. Learn from your mistakes and move on

8. Don't be a day trader
"If you aren't willing to own a stock for 10 years, don't even think about owning it for ten minutes."

"When a person with money meets a person with experience, the one with experience ends up with the money and the one with money leaves with experience."

Sucsesful investors don't all play the market the same way. We all have different personalities and skills, so it is good to reflect on many different approaches, before hopefully finding a way that works for you.

Howdo Bumpa,

So this is where you hang around now? Only really look in occasionally just happened to press the wrong AAZ thread. Anyhow only posting here to ask if our old friend is ok? Think I’ve lost both your email addresses and last I heard he’d go5 a bit of a serious op looming. If you still have mine ping me an email if you know.

See you’re in full on trader mode.

Wan, you’ve picked a good ally to learn from here ;)

welcome Adam, exit plan, TBH no, not really!!!

I know,,,, 'fail to plan is to plan to fail' and all that, but, honestly I haven't really... .......... :-)

Right now I think TXP, ORM & AAZ all have great long term prospects, should the metrics used to determine that view change or they keep falling,,, then my desire to hold them will change, but no, I'm not sat here thinking I'll sell TXP at 30p or ORM at 20p or AAZ at 250p etc.....

Please, do share your exit strategy if you wish,,,, although,,, I fully understand should you wish to keep that to yourself....

Thanx, cheers, Wan

Hi Wanobi,I'm still holding only have 2 companies including this one left in my portfolio. Hope you have worked out your exit plan. These markets are showing practically no entry points for me especially with any decent fundamentals. Volex VLX is my other holding. Still in profit for the year but in 95% cash. Think we have a long way to go before the market will show any decent strength. Only then will I start to reinvest will low risk. Remember risk is king if you want to get though all of this. Adam

Wan - if you get a spare hour at the weekend, have a look at AVCT. I don't usually do biotech, they tend to bleed money and never get anywhere, but this one looks very interesting with the deal just done with LG Life Sciences, part of the huge Korean LG Group.

Incredible stuff. I knew this company (Wirecard) was one of the biggest/most obvious frauds out there - did well shorting it back in 2016 - before the damn thing rose 400%!!

I recall conversing with a few germans who followed the story and said that elements of the Munich prosecutors office were bent.

I really hope someone nails Wirecard this time.

Some good posts the last few days. Welcome to those newer to the board.
Another 200oz done today.
Another day closer to the JORC, to the next divi, to the next project.
No fear of dilution.
Possibility of gold heading up.
Still only c.10% off recent highs.

What's not to love
:D

GBPUSD down 4.5% since the Interim Divi was calculated.
Sterling looking sick across all comparators and could well head much lower.

So our GBP earnings are going up all the time and so too future dividends.

Slightest whiff of Dovishness or reigning back of planned 2019 rates rises in the Fed commentary will instantly kick gold higher.

Things look ugly all around but, with AAZ we have the wind in our sails and are relatively insulated.

“Anglo Asian Mining PLC on Thursday said it recorded strong growth in its most recent quarter and expects annual production to reach the upper end of guidance.

Shares in Anglo Asian mining were down 7.0% at 61.88 pence on Thursday.

The Azerbaijan-focused mining company recorded a 38% year-on-year increase in production to 24,412 gold equivalent ounces in the third quarter of 2018.

Anglo Asian had 28% increase in production quarter-on-quarter, with year-to-date production also up 28% to 61,761 gold equivalent ounces in the quarter.

"Given the strong production in the year so far, I am expecting production for the full year to be at the upper end of our guidance," said Chief Executive Reza Vaziri.

The miner's net cash as at September 30 stood at USD2.8 million. A maiden dividend of USD0.03 per share for the 2018 year is to be paid November 8.

"This has been another excellent quarter for Anglo Asian as copper production restarted from the flotation plant following the commissioning of the second crusher line," said Reza.”

My guess for FY18 is 87k geo....we will know in a matter of weeks.

Aaz are continually looking to improve and streamline where identified. Their stacking and arranging of ore feed into “fingers”; making for a quicker and smoother operation is just one example. They leave no stone unturned never mind how small or insignificant whether it be operational, managerial or financial.

Looking for 95k geo upwards for FY19 guidance....

Wan,

Think about the impact of liquidity, and what you'd be happy to hold as base positions come whatever happens in the general markets, and your relative cash percentage. Bid prices can collapse very quickly in uncertain times, which can be scary.
