Just got back in from work! I see we are down with the main market. Some lucky people will have been able to buy more at under 90p today. I should know the answer to this but perhaps someone can help. I have not spent my dividend money yet , but want to now buy a few more shares. I have used my full ISA allowance for this year on AAZ shares Can i buy shares in my isa account( will this take me over this years limit ?) or do i have to transfer the money to my ordinary account before i can buy more aaz shares and then put them in an isa in the next tax year ?

I think we’re sitting somewhere between a simple “well overdue correction” and a proper full on “bear market” - the tone of the market has shifted from a ‘buy the dip’ mentality to a ‘sell the rip’ one imo. Who knows though, we could bounce around in this 2620/2800 range for awhile yet. I’m not looking further out than week to week at the moment, but then I’m undeniably a short term horizon thinker :)

yep, rule 6 Bumpa :-), as you say we're not in crash mode yet, so hopefully this is nothing more than a well overdue correction, cheers Wan

Today was a market sell off, not AAZ having problems.
We are making at list as much money as last week if not more.
Let the market create buying opportunities.
Our bank account is getting fatter every week, some of that money will be paid to the share holders in dividends.
Short term holders will be shaken out on down days, the long term holders will ride every storm and land on a sunny island with a sack of gold...

as AAZ is my biggest holding by far, I really must keep an eye on it.... I mentioned 75p earlier; however a quick re-chart shows 3 major resistance support lines that could be considered, in my humble novice opinion, so lets see what transpires over time :-)

75p then 65p then very strong support at around 40p...

whilst this market makes up its mind as to how far this correction will go, or even crash, POG is going up so AAZ is increasing its profits month by month,,,, provided management are not spending it all on KRUG and the like ,,, lol, :-)

GLA, NIA intended, I am a novice at this etc etc..

Cheers
Wan

All very healthy. Need sellers to make a market. Anyone selling above 90p is most likely banking a large profit. Can't blame anyone for doing that, especially when the wider market is weak.

AAZ meanwhile has become a little more profitable over the past few days due to a rising gold price. And presumably reduced fuel costs over the past month as the oil price crashed.

As I said before the interims, hopefully the share price drops further. Back then it inexplicably fell from mid 40s to mid 30s - when we knew the upcoming results would be superb, and a maiden dividend announced.

That fall to 30-odd pence allowed smart people on here, those who knew their stuff and did their research, a chance to buy at a great price. If it drops into the 70s and 60s without reason, great news for anyone knowledgeable on here!

This does mirror the drifts we have had between steps up before - 75 down to 68, 85 down to high 70s, now 95 down to 89.5. Next step is straight up to 105ish. All depending on news of course, a positive upgrade and we will be 120 without a pause.

With Brexit, and all the continual Trump trumped up charges taking up the newsflow bandwidth every day, are we seeing an attempt to ''manage'' the market lower by stealth, keeping it off the front pages. It will be interesting to see if marked declines occur in tandem around Brexit vote day.
