still no sign of any seller in the auctions & gold with some strength at last. Let's hope he has finally finished up selling

cflather, many thanx for your post, that seems to be a very sensible approach to me,,,, so far I've managed to literally tie myself in knots trying to understand the trades page only to discover that actually no one can with any certainty see what's going on in the market for AAZ from that page... so as you say, looking for the long term investment and not the trade, your approach makes perfect sense to me... I was hoping for some insight from the long term experienced guys; but, as that is not forthcoming I can only conclude that I will not waste any more time on the trades page! thanx again W

A handy wee tool Bumpa:

:O)

Just when I was thinking this wee reprieve for the POG was a typical dead cat bounce, this came to my attention:

Could it be that the Chinese investors are going to weigh in decisively?
Seems the Indians and other SE/S Asian nationals are back buying too.

"“There are limitations in buying properties in China and the equity markets have under-performed, so you’re starting to see an increase in appetite to buy gold,”
Makes sense, especially given the recent sharp yuan depreciation v $US which may have now largely run its course..

I'm pretty new to investing, so i don't doubt that there are many people who know more than me, and do place important on buys and sells.I don't really care and I think it's too precise and complex for me to draw any meaningful knowledge from it. And it seems very short-term focused, when I'm a long term investor. I care about long term growth, not what the market is doing on a single day. It's good to know whether the accepted share price is going up or down, but the share price movement does that to enough detail for me. I don't need to know the motives of the actors

cflather, many thanx for the explanation, so we're really kind of in the dark in regards to the trades using ADVFN ? Now I know that, I agree, its not worth focusing on.... I just wanted to see how the guys on the mattjos thread seem to have such a precise insight into the buying and selling going on etc.. generally speaking are others of the same opinion and do you also place very little importance to buys vs sells and so on...? thanx W

Brasso3, all I can do is assure you that there is no trickery going on here & that I am certainly not here to disturb anything..... I am simply trying to learn more about ADVFN, investing on the AIM, AAZ and so on.... and I will be making investments once I feel comfortable with doing so.. until then, I keep on learning and I wish you and all the other investors in AAZ the very best... I have not said one bad thing about AAZ or the mattjos / yazX threads because I cannot see anything bad... so far it all looks great to me. very best wishes W

Wanobi is not a new investor and I have seen this trick before on ADVFN. He is here to disturb the discussion which has been very focused on AAZ for many years. He is indeed trying to keep his waffle thread at the top of the list. If you filter him then you will not see thread created by that individual.

No, not really. The distinction between buys and sells is a grey area at best.It means that the transaction was probably at the initiative of one side or the other, based on the proximity of buy or sell price at the time of the transaction. It means that probably the shares were on the market at a set price and someone purchased them, rather than someone had a purchase order at a set price and the initiative was taken by the seller. But why are you focusing on this? Personally, I place very little importance to buys vs sells. All you need to know is that 2 parties agreed a price of that much at that time

something I want to check; on a day like today where there are 52858 shares bought and 0 shares sold, that simply means the shares bought are coming from the MM's stock of shares, correct? So if the MM's had no stock there would have to be an equivalent number of shares sold right? thanx W

no, not yet jeanesy, thanx W

waiting to see if the seller has gone and also that the 200DMA has held firm,,,, seems sensible right now even if I end up paying more for them.. looking good today though!

thanx jeanesy, I'm not sure many want to post here at the moment (& that's ok, I understand) but,,, I would also like to know the answer to the question you have raised, do you feel able to ask it on the mattjos thread to see if you can get a response, thanx W (for obvious reasons, I fully understand if you don't want to ask it there)

Spread is indeed 40.5 and 41.99 so yes next buy would be 42p . so mid price is actually 41.25p so not sure why we still show 40p ?

crazycoops, does that mean I am reading this correctly? if I am, I assure you it's only simple logic I've figured out for myself... not sure if the spread has anything to do with it though!? thanx W

Hi all, next buy at full 42p offer by the looks of the trade page, so I'd say this will be rising soonish without the seller? anyone care to support my logic or educate me as to why I'm wrong? many thanx W

3 buys 41.25, 41.50 & 41.75...... so 42p is next buy?
