Those that dilly dally looking for definitive confirmation from others either miss the boat entirely or hand to those prepared to act quickly.

jeanesy .. that's the whole purpose of these threads .. to give those that follow it an edge of the broader market, if at all possible.
It's why we were buying at 5p, 10p, 15p and not selling out as so many others did.
Other people's incorrect decision making is our opportunity. Later this year, folk who dilly-dallied here will be kicking themselves as will be having to pay higher.
I guess its also whether you choose to buy when momentum seem to be going up (& get robbed by the market makers) or, try to get them as cheaply as you can when others are staying away & the MM's have dropped the spread to try and do some business.

they deliberately kept it pegged down and switched off availability to get it into the 2pm auction for the 40.9 stock to get shifted & in the hope of scaring some more loose stock out of the market. Whilst the MM's may be obliging the auction participants they are consistently being taken for stock by those that know how cheap it is at this price level. Would not be surprised if they shortly decide to rattle it up to try and find some more stock for their own books

Wanted 30k - no deal

reduced it to 20k then 10k then 5k still no deal

They're not making a market


Finally got the 30k but had to pay 41.9p. Not much of a difference really.

you seem to forget that GBPUSD has fallen from 1.43 to 1.27 over the last 4 months. We do have a natural hedge in the business model

Yes there is that I as well but the POG and the sentiment towards gold is not helping. I fear we are more likely to hit 1150 than rise towards 1230 atmo which will present itself with a cheaper price here.. 1195 as i type !

jeanesy, we are where we are mainly as a consequence of it being a thin summer market and a gap in the newsflow.
Market likes news and in gaps between scheduled newsitems, the price simply drifts, particularly so in the summer months.
However, we are closing in on the HY results and the divi announcement ... the T20 buying window for that news will open later this week & I'd expect to see the MM's widen out the spread in anticipation of that.
Gotta get them while they are cheap and the spread is tight like this

However cheap we think these are we are driven by the POG atmo and the trend is downwards atmo. Outside of news periods then we are at the mercy of POG. I keep thinking we can't get any cheaper and buy some more but the POG keeps going down! I never thought that we would be at this price again but we are where we are atmo !!

AAZ cannot manage the share price, but as long as they keep mining gold, keep making very good profits and start paying a progressive dividend, plus expand the reserves, then in due course the share price will suffer an attack of sanity and reflect the real value here.

Price here is tracking POG which is looking like it will breach 1200 today, so we may also breach 40p again which will present some with a bargain ! .. happened already POG below 1200 !!

Some weird buy/sell flags today/Friday.

Take the last 10k shares trade Friday flagged "sell" @ 41.88p; quotes 41<>43p.
Well, it might have been yet another over-the-mid-price sell.
But.
Highly improbable when, just a minute or so before, previous trade, also 10k was a "sell" for 41.0p.
Expect the next sell deal would be appx. the same price or lower; next price 0.88p higher shouts buy to me.

Whatever the weakness in the POG, bought a few more on the AAZ price weakness this am.
Going for ~40.75 at mo.

have I got this correct, right now 15000 sells and 3716 buys ?

even tho advfn reports them as all sells because they are all below mid spread price,,,, but you expect to get less for them the more you sell, hence why the 15000 are all at 41p and the 3716 are higher?

This short term Gold weakness should not last long.
