And that's why no one respects you. Sometimes you write credible observations and facts. Other times it's drivel like that.Stick to the former and people might actually listen to you Tom...

Anyone get the feeling one of those share consolidation things is looming?
Can't be too many punters with much money left to lose on AIM?

This is what a successful initial drill looks like from one of the JV partners.

Note 60M of pay, but no guesses on how much oil is recoverable, because they are now going to test it:

15mbo is just a guess. Until it has been flow tested they have no real evidence to support the number.

It is highly unlikely it will be flow tested by the current JV partners as the costs of drilling the well needed to flow test is very high, that is why they went for a cheap drill just to confirm seismic interpretation. The result seismic interpretation was way off both in terms of the guess on quantity and location - if you can't hit the target when right above it trying to hit is when drilling miles from an onshore site will be extremely high risk. 3m of net pay is a tiny target and not worth the expense of trying to hit. If they do anything it would be another jack up rig like the last trying to hit a target that would be worth aiming for from ashore.

Frankly, returning to the maths on 15mbo minimum (if you believe that assertion)RBD or UOG could buy ADL at, say Market Cap plus premium of 40% (£1.05 Mill plus £420k = £1.47 mill) in order to acquire 1.2 million barrels at £1.23 each. I think that includes all those new shares too.

If anyone who follwed my calls on the various boards their capital would have been safe at least.

If you read the discussion above there are a few useful learning points. In fact, after some of the more emotionally febrile posters took offence after Wick I voluntarily posted that I would not narrate the Colter Well.

Therefore when I decided to do a Bolter from Colter I posted it a full two approx weeks before the expected TD to avoid winding up any sensitive types around TD time. Its up to you Granny, you are more than welcome to filter!

In fact Karolina’s reiteration that most ‘investment217; in AIM oilers is nothing more than gambling is correct. Have you considered EOG btw? The only way you are going to cheer up is by making some money! When that happens and you evolve into a serious trader/investor you will look back and be grateful for the graciousness of investors like Karolina, myself and a few others (particularly the geologists who could charge £500 easily for their opinions to a professional investor) for sharing our viewpoints and experience.

Its all about mind over matter. Good luck.

Excellent article that is well worth a read as is covers all the points we have both raised in a very sensible and balanced way:

"Lots of private investors talk about ‘investing’ in oil and gas exploration plays, but in most cases I would argue that ‘gambling’ is a far more suitable description and has a similar outcome, with the majority ending up losing money...."

Karolina yes I agree, no DST was planned or licenced. What I ought to have written was, based on events so far it looks unlikely that further operations will be carried out to test for commercial viability.

Spangle93 on another board, might have been RBD, extremely graciously posted a precis of geological findings and conclusions so far: for anyone not already out it was a very helpful indicator to do a bolter from colter before the sidetrack conclusion RNS. On the propaganda front I don’t read any of it, yet as people we are constantly and subconsciously vulnerable to being influenced.

Yes I take your point re Mandela, when trying to lead a huge and enraged movement it is necessary to always look and sound onside. On your points re ADL which are well written I would offer my view which is, assume that all AIM tiny oilers are dismally uninvestable as a start point but they do have the utility function of occasional news driven northwards price action.

That is the pseudo-assumption created to defend capital (our fighting power) but the reality is that there are a very few great E and P companies out there, mostly they emerge during significant risk events, oil wells and licence farm ins etc. In that sense although you make a great case for the prosecution a defence would be: if Colter had been an unequivocal commercial success then Andalas would be a very different proposition now inspite of Bunga and the relinquishment issue.
