05/10/2006 12:08 | Any views on share price performance in the short term? SP has returned to levels not seen since for c.11 months. I have used this to buy and add to my existing long position from last year when I bought @ £1.20-25. The company's performance and outlook are not radically different to the position c.1 year ago. Bought a further £20k of shares at £1.52 | impartial

05/10/2006 06:32 | Can anyone say if the Special Dividend is acually the cause of the very recent steep fall in sp? Has the SD simply been discounted or are there other factors in play here? | mazarin

03/10/2006 17:06 | I am not a holder of AMT, I have never shorted them, and have been watching closely for a good time to buy. Now is not a good time. What will Amstrad have to report at the half year? £5m turnover from Amstrad International. £4m from Amserve and stb sales. Reguarding stb's AMT say "we expect demand to decline on the current models in the current year". Sky and Sky Italia repeat orders come in blocks with a 3 to 5 month lead time. AMT's last order from Sky was brought forward from H1 06/07 to H2 05/06. Pace say they have an order for standard and Sky+ boxes for delivery before the end of the year. Seeing Sky orders are split between Thomson Pace and Amstrad it is possible AMT have no orders from Sky in H1 of 06/07. Sky Italia should continue to order HD from AMT and Pace but this is not a high volume product yet. Turnover in H1 may be as low as £25m and with the new Sky+ PVR not going into full scale volume production until 07/08 then sales may be a little thin for the whole of 06/07. It is likely that Thomson or Pace will be lead supplies for the new Sky+PVR going on recent history and subsequently there may be no more orders of the old Sky+ model beyond the end of this year. There is also a risk of further delays in the launch of a new product The good news is that AMT see the new Sky+PVR as selling in "significant volumes" and this quote was at a time when they were already selling £82m worth of stb's a year. | darrin1471 |
