26/6/2017 07:30 | However chronic the problems of Tanzania and Africa might be now, they ain't nothing compared with what's just over the horizon: More detail on the population explosion at 55267 | warbaby43
24/6/2017 11:45 | Belt and Braces! That sounds better than the real name 'Belt & Road'. Where the road refers to maritime routes... | haideralifool
24/6/2017 09:30 | Yeah I think the railway is part of the Chinese Belt and Braces initiative, and looks like the extension of the oil pipeline (to also carry gas) is part of that. Interesting recent article on Chinese involvement - | bunbooster2
24/6/2017 07:56 | They want Zambia's copper. Chinese building new railway through Kenya to the port also.. | foolsandcows
24/6/2017 07:17 | I wonder who will build the pipeline..Chinese no doubt? | foolsandcows
24/6/2017 05:59 | Zambia mega gas power project - "He said with the discovery of huge reserves of gas off the coast of Tanzania and Mozambique, supply of gas to Zambia is guaranteed, and that Government will ensure the combined cycle gas-fired power plant is set up. “In recent years, the supply of electricity has been hampered by relying on an undiversified source of electricity generation. Effects of low water levels in water bodies have been cited as among the causes of the reduction in generation of electricity. “The power generation plant to be located in Chinsali will be supplied with gas from the port of Dar es Salaam via a 36-inch pipeline. The pipeline will be laid alongside the crude oil pipeline in the existing TAZAMA wayleave, with an estimated length of 1,100 km,” Mr Mulusa said. He said if Tanzania and Mozambique fail to meet the demand for the supply of gas to Zambia, Government will source it from international suppliers, especially the Middle East." I think the power plan sees this as mid twenties so years away but I think everyone on this thread agrees Aminex is a strong buy at the moment. | bunbooster2

21/6/2017 23:20 | IMO a useful NPV is one that is meaningfully positive after accounting for a fair cost of capital. I don't get to a useful NPV when running through what Solo paid for their Kiliwani stake | dan_the_epic
21/6/2017 23:15 | 64513: what us a useful Npv?! Also surely that is what we pay mgt for, to spot anomalies which can increase our enterprise value. If it was a about investing in assets which had a useful Npv (in the first place) a lot of projects may never receive capital investment! | dunderheed
21/6/2017 22:06 | p.s. I'm not making an effort to see SOLO, its just that they are presenting by coincidence. | pj 1
21/6/2017 22:02 | LOL-I was thinking more along the lines of Rovuma and the AEX ''connection''. I don't understand SOLO business model at all | pj 1
21/6/2017 21:13 | Be straight up and question the rationale behind why any sane investor would invest into a company that can't even demonstrate an ability to cover its cost of capital | dan_the_epic
21/6/2017 20:53 | I am due to attend a presentation at the end of the month which includes SOLO. If anyone does have any questions I shall do my best. Either post here, via the mail option, or | pj 1
