You may prove to be right, ngms. However, the reason for the negotiations on payment guarantees were concerns about getting paid. In practice they are getting paid on a fairly reasonable lag as things are, which is what matters.

It's also not much of a surprise that a commercial level on a take or pay basis of 25-30mmscfd has not been agreed as was originally envisaged. Neither side would have been very happy. TPDC because they don't have a current market and AEX as they might (would)have had trouble maintaining that level. The current situation is better for both sides. Maybe that will change as KN-1 gets reworked and demand picks up - or maybe we'll just go on like this - invoicing monthly in arrears - as long as the payments continue, and at the moment payment rates are improving generally in Tanz, it makes little difference.

It's a complete sham. AEX agreed a GSA with TPDC that had clauses around monthly payment guarantees plus price rises etc.I'm personally now thinking that the GSA will never be ratified and TPDC will continue to do exactly what they please and continue to shaft AEX until KN-1 is depleted.

Extra gas demand must be Orca maintenance. Makes no difference which pipeline they go into so long as the gas gets to the end user that requires it.

It's not Tesco, it's Tanesco. Was confused for a bit about that myself a while back.

I'm confused about the payment guarantee as well.Payment guarantees (prepayment) apply once commercial production rates have been agreed and declared. They haven't yet. How much that's down to TPDC not having demand to take full potential production, or uncertainties over the well isn't clear to me.Currently they invoice monthly and are paid on those. Apparently around 4 months in arrears at present. Not brilliant, but probably around the same as invoicing Tesco or any large UK company.Peter

Confusing function of an alleged escrow account but you can't beat a British banger. No confusion there. No offense to the Pols.

Wonder where WRL are getting the extra gas demand from if AEX are still producing 15 mmfcd as per the RNS.

Neil Ritson, Solo's Chairman commented:

"We are pleased to see that TPDC have made a further US$ payment for our Kiliwani gas sales and that Aminex continue to work with TPDC to bring payments up to date.

The Ruvuma basin modelling study is an important step in optimising the development of the Ntorya gas field and Solo continues to work closely with Aminex on this project.. We look forward to being able to report the results of the study in the coming quarter."

Re post 64733. Maybe that's why they are now saying this."Aminex is also re-evaluating existing data over its licence interests around Songo Songo Island to identify further drilling targets which could ultimately produce additional gas into the Songo Songo Island processing plant."

Today's RNS - Small positives I suppose.

Whatever happened to the "payment guarantees" that were the oft quoted reason, a while back, for delays in the GSA.

Anyone remember the GSA?
