gersemi - I've seen very little from either partner on the geology. They're seeing structures on the seismic, but it's not clear what makes these stand out. I'm thinking of a desert & the dunes forming the structures, maybe fault sealed in one or more dirctions....

And this Combo-trap? Is that good or bad?!!

It's either good or bad for value creation and that's the way in which I perceive company news

Sometimes the distinction whether the trap belongs to one system or another is quite blurred. Traps with two or more trapping elements are called combination traps.

Anyone have a view on what they mean by "combination trapping"? My guess is dip & fault closures, but not completely clear what they're hinting at.

What is the relevance of 'directional drilling'? Is it non-vertical drilling?

..Yes. If you think about it for a moment, it would be pretty pointless drilling 4 vertical wells from the same pad

fwiw I expect strong move to 20p and then some resistance at that level before it become a support level for next leg up

Morning all,

Completely unexpected early RNS, hence the horribly tardy note. But had to check-in.
Absolutely no surprises here, only that the share price is still languishing below 20p. Which is complete and utter nonsense!!

Let's keep it to ourselves; CPO5 is shaping-up to be very, VERY big ;o)

Creditable result from ONGC and definitely not trying to push production to limits on the well, playing it safe from the 40ft. perforated.

Currently its unassisted, and if they decided to fit an ESP that could double or treble but ONGC seem happy to investigate the field without pushing too far, which in my opinion is right.

Now its time for Amerisur to get a good result on something, or give news on Pintadillo which I suspect is not so good.

Not sure but I thought CPO-5 oil is not as valuable as Plat oil because of X factor considerations, but it still very useful, albeit does nothing to fill up our pipeline but it will provide useful reserve upgrades

Abundantly clear that CPO5 is going to unlock some serious value in the next 1-2 years. 30-40p on the SP, maybe more. Worth pondering.

This news will have OXY chomping at the bit.

'Amerisur Resources PLC (LON:AMER) had good news for investors from Colombia where its latest well flowed at 4,530 barrels a day during a short term test.

The oil brought to surface was a light crude. At almost 36 degrees API it wasn’t quite as light as West Texas Intermediate or Brent, but lighter than the black stuff unearthed from Saudi Arabia’s main fields.

Intercepted during the drilling of Indico-1, which began in November, was a net 209-foot oil column.

Significantly, there is no indication from the drilling of oil water contact, which would signify the vertical extent of the oil bearing zone.

Amerisur was targeting the same play as the successful Mariposa-1 well, which in May 2017 flowed at a stabilised rate of 4,601 barrels per day of 40.8 degree API oil in natural flow from a limited perforation interval'
