Looks like a new pipeline maybe on the cards

The block has further strategic importance in that it extends south towards the Putumayo river and Ecuadorian border. This brings benefits in terms of accessibility for operations and eventual evacuation of produced crude by providing a pathway to access the pipeline systems of Ecuador, in a similar way to the existing OBA system in our Platanillo field."

Amerisur Resources Plc ("Amerisur" or the "Company")
Completion of Putumayo Acquisition
Amerisur Resources Plc, the oil and gas producer and explorer focused on South America, is pleased to announce the approval from the Agencia Nacional de Hidrocarburos (ANH) to the assignment of 100% Operated working interest in the Putumayo 14 (Put-14) block in Colombia, in favour of its affiliate Amerisur Exploracion Colombia Limitada. The ANH approval to the assignment has enabled the closing and completion of the farm in agreement (FIA) executed with Gulfsands Petroleum Plc (Gulfsands).
The Put-14 block covers 46,361 hectares in the Caguan-Putumayo basin and is located contiguously to the south of Amerisur's operated Terecay block. The contract is an Exploration and Production contract held with the ANH. The contract carries an X Factor of 5%. The contract continues in Phase 0, in the process of previous consultation (consulta previa) that has already initiated with an indigenous community within the block, as required by law before operations commence.
As per the terms of the FIA, Gulfsands transferred to Amerisur the total amount of US$750,000 (plus an additional amount to be transferred in Colombia once accounts have been conciliated between the Parties), which corresponds to the balance of the initial amount of US$1,250,000 that was agreed between the Parties to be a contribution from Gulfsands to the consulta previa and operational costs of Phase 0. Additionally Gulfsands transferred the total amount of US$1,702,208 that will be required for the guarantee for the Phase 1 work programme in favour of Amerisur.
Subsequent to the consulta previa, Phase 1 commitments are the acquisition of 98km of 2D seismic data and the drilling of one exploration well. The period of Phase 1 is 36 months from the end of Phase 0.
John Wardle, CEO of Amerisur commented:
"We are very pleased to have closed this attractive deal for the Company, further consolidating our strategic position in the Putumayo and adding additional prospective acreage to our Terecay-Tacacho play fairway, where we and our partner Oxy Andina see significant potential in multi-layered reservoirs, proven in our existing operations, in legacy wells and within Ecuador. The block has further strategic importance in that it extends south towards the Putumayo river and Ecuadorian border. This brings benefits in terms of accessibility for operations and eventual evacuation of produced crude by providing a pathway to access the pipeline systems of Ecuador, in a similar way to the existing OBA

Oil play Amerisur is at a major turning point

The Colombian oil producer looks exciting after a $93m agreement with a US firm and exploration success

13 December 2018|Great Ideas
Issue: 13 Dec 2018

We think a very active period for Amerisur Resources (AMER:AIM) could be the catalyst for the market to take another look at the stock.

A recently secured $93m farm-out agreement with US firm Occidental Petroleum (23 Nov) and news of a potentially significant new oil discovery (10 Dec) has breathed some life into the share price. A forward price-to-earnings ratio of 10 times suggests the shares remain inexpensive and so we still believe the share price has much further to rise.

We expect momentum to be maintained in the coming months as the Occidental deal helps accelerate activity across the company’s acreage in Colombia.

The political instability is one of the risks which must be weighed when assessing the stock, and this, plus some delays in fully tapping the potential of its Colombian assets, has been a factor in holding back the share price in the past.

However there are plenty of reasons to be positive. The company is underpinned by a strong and growing production base from its Platanillo field of around 5,500 barrels of oil equivalent per day. It has a low-cost export route through a pipeline into Ecuador. Amerisur can fund activity from robust internal cash flow and it is sitting on plenty of cash.

Stockbroker Arden forecasts it will have $49.3m cash at the end of 2018. This buffer also provides some insulation from short-term volatility in the oil price.

The recent successful result from the Indico-1 well, where Amerisur is partnered with Indian state oil firm ONGC, marks the start of a busy period of drilling activity with 12 more wells set to be drilled through to the end of 2019.

This has been augmented by the agreement with Occidental which will see Amerisur carried on a big seismic survey and five-well programme through to 2021.

The company’s chief executive John Wardle has plenty of in-country experience. He has been working in Colombia for the best part of two decades – initially for BP (BP.) and then Emerald Energy where he was responsible for the discovery of the Campo Rico and Vigia oil fields.

Emerald, which also had assets in Syria, was taken over by Chinese state firm Sinochem for £532m in October 2009.

And Wardle has backed his faith in Amerisur’s forthcoming drilling effort with cold hard cash, investing nearly £1m of his own money in company shares in the wake of the Occidental deal.

For now 16p keeps getting "proded/tested" and old resistance turns new support will soon fall into place. 14.5p acting as support and buy the dip area (secondary big support a penny lower) short term it looks good for getting into the new range....the backtest of 16p will be "last chance saloon" and should see healthy gains when the fundamental news kicks in.
Thinking 2019 will be a great year for Amer....wishing you all a good one!

Bought some today. When it's confirmed that Rex has left the building then this should rally quite hard. I suspect he could be waiting for the flow-rates to feed stock into that 'offloading' opportunity

Indico1 update on 10th Dec...The next steps for the well operations include the acquisition of further wireline logging data, including pressures and samples across the reservoir. A 7-inch production liner will then be run and cemented followed by short term testing of the well.Would expect an update next week
