Well done to the company excellent work I say, this is a very fast reaction from AMER drilling another 4 wells from this pad immediately.

Now I would say the share price is heading back up to 60p this year.

My post

"The Oxy deal was spectacular. As a minimum, it is a cost saving exercise, money that we do not have to spend, of $93.25 million and IF THE PROGRAM IS SUCCESSFUL, it will add multiples of that to the SP, plus probably providing an easy exit route."

Your response

"Charlie. "IT will add multiples of that to the sp" YOU DO NOT KNOW THAT AND NOR DO I"

Tyler, surely you know that "IF" is a conditional word?

I was setting out the range of possibilities re the OXY deal, from minimum to maximum, which I regard as balanced and responsible posting. I stand by my statement that IF the Oxy program is successful, AMER could be JW's next Emerald Energy and that did multi bag.

I have recently taken a position in AMER and wonder whether other PIs are becoming interested. I am wary of some of the observations with regard to historical events but the recent farm out quantifying value, significant director buying and Indico 1 discovery give me good encouragement. Hopefully 2019 will be a positive turning point and there seem plenty of catalysts that could move the SP, perhaps the overhang of the significant seller is also coming to an end ?

Must say , it makes sense for Directors to be paid by results , if they increase the value of the company then yes mega bonus payments are fine , if not then bonus payments are not made , serious salaries should cover average performance , but greedy little pigs do infest AIM without doubt.

Tyler, I wouldn't disagree - BUT, you have to be in it to win it!
Until the drill bit hits it's all dust and air. At CPO5 we seem to have gotten lucky, p'haps INCREDIBLY lucky, but that's the way the E&P cookie crumbles.

This is frontier stuff in every sense so take dates and deadlines with shovel of salt.
Managing expectations starts with No.1 and having been here well over 8 years I won't take lectures from anyone. I've top sliced, reduced and now added significantly (starting at about 18p/19p last year). Not perhaps the ideal play, but have continued to down-average and for [IMO] v good reason - and continue to do so! Reason: The picture going forward, on so many levels [IMHO] right now, has never been better. AMER has astutely acquired extensive assets over rich, low risk/prolific prospecting blocks with proximity to infrastructure. Yes, there are hurdles to clear and bases to cover but the long term looks incredibly positive.

For 2019, it may be worth making a resolution to be clear about the variables over which we have control and those we don't!

Charlie and others. It keeps getting mentioned about CPO-5, but the FACT is its ONGC that is operator and they have made the decisions and they deserve the pat on the back for any success. Amerisur enjoy the ride, so there's no way JW should get an incentive for someone else's project! Of course he might have input, but the buck stopped with ONGC and THEY decided where to drill who to drill it, they control all the tenders, etc. etc. etc. and again incentives should be verifiable in terms of the benefit to shareholders in my opinion, so base it on where the share price was at 60p and where it is now....We are owed a rebate!!

Charlie. "IT will add multiples of that to the sp" YOU DO NOT KNOW THAT AND NOR DO I. It has the potential to do that, just like Paraguay had the potential to do that...but until it does its potential only.

We should remember that the BOD making money at these levels compounds how ridiculous the LTIP is, because whatever we want to think, the BoD have presided over the company which results in the pathetic share price they are now able to buy at, but still received full salaries for and of course any handouts from the remuneration committee, which in my honest opinion has brought discredit to the name of Amerisur.

what was it Mark Twain is purported to have said about gold mines, which seems to apply equally to oil companies:

"A mine is a hole in the ground with a liar standing next to it" as how many oil companies have come up with wonderful looking deals and even more spectacular STOIIP figures that ended up shafting shareholders.

Personally however, I do believe Amerisur stands head and shoulders above other AIM oil companies.

Happy New Year to one and all.

I am more inclined to agree with your point of view, Lucy.

The Oxy deal was spectacular. As a minimum, it is a cost saving exercise, money that we do not have to spend, of $93.25 million and if the program is successful, it will add multiples of that to the SP, plus probably providing an easy exit route.

If the LTIP is properly structured, there should be reward for that Oxy deal with its immediate impact (but only for those directly responsible). Likewise, if JW was responsible for the change of direction on CPO-5, then his 2017 awards were well earned, but that should not be duplicated again this year.

Generally, it is better to see the BOD making money out of on market purchases at these share price levels and the LTIP shares should be targeted at a much higher level of achievement re share price (which may well be the case with no RH depressing the share price and a decent flow of news over the next few months up to the award dates).

Lucy. You can't spend progress and until it results in profits its potential.

I feel very positive though that this year will be 'transformational' in terms of the share price, and I'm still hanging around for the £1 which I believe is achievable.

However, you can't close your eyes to the past.

As far as minimum wage, when did any BoD member EVER get minimum wage? How many of them work in Colombia. One certainly does, but you don't get prizes for where you live, you should get prizes/options for actual achievements and in my opinion that should only be measured in terms of how much shareholder value you have added and the best way to do that is use the share price

Projects that award anything should be a no no, because that is what they are paid for, but profit related incentives I have no problem with because then shareholders are sharing in any benefit from share price growth, unlike the past few years where there's been anything but shareholder growth, or the debacle of the pipeline options even before it was completed, let alone not mentioning bottlenecks etc. etc., or not having the oil to transport through it.

Happy New Year to all holders.

Any predictions for share price levels this time next year if all the ducks line up properly?

I feel 35p is possible by Christmas 2019.
