Now just want OPEC to agree better than expected cuts and the news here to be really good.. not asking for too much am I?

It will be interesting to see if the post-AGM malaise of information extends to turning down the production/export from the levels within the pre-AGM figures of 2 May's RNS.

It is the Plat 21 news that is expected first (adding 20 days to the date of the 4th May RNS, extract as follows).

They did say “approximately”.

"Well Platanillo-21, a low step out directional well targeting the crest of the Pad 2N accumulation is currently at coring point, 10ft above the N sand reservoir at 7,573ft measured depth (MD), having successfully set and cemented 9.5/8" casing. It is planned to core all reservoir sections in this well, with total depth being achieved in approximately 20 days from today. A further announcement will be made when drilling operations are complete."

On Mariposa, less specific: perhaps “imminent.......”

“Analysis indicates the presence of approximately 120ft of oil saturated net pay in the Lower Sands Unit 3 of the Une formation. In addition, good shows of oil and gas were encountered while drilling this section. The Operator, ONGC Videsh, is currently conditioning the well to run and cement a 7" production liner in order to initiate the testing programme.

John Wardle, Chief Executive Officer, commented:

"I am delighted with the result of the Mariposa-1 well, in the CPO-5 block. We look forward to updating shareholders upon completion of further tests by our partners ONGC Videsh."”

davwall. Often the hold up is getting ANH approval for any dissemination of information.

I suggest that no news really will be good news.

It wouldn't take long to alert us to a duff well.

There does seem to have been genuine excitement at the result.

From memory, or what's left of it, I think the original announcement by ONGC of the exciting Mariposa-1 drilling indications was made between 17.00 and 18.00 Delhi time, so about early afternoon UK time. Therefore, there still might be news later today regarding testing results. Then again,there might not. If not today it could be tomorrow, or the following day, or the day after that... Sweepstake, anyone..?

I forecast that its premature to suggest news today has been proved wrong. Unlikely maybe but a lot more of the day to go yet before we can state its been proved wrong....was that a forecast?

The only news so far today is that anybody that suggested there would be news today has been proved wrong. How about we all agree to suspend the postings forecasting imminent news and simply be thrilled when, every 20 days or so we actually get some.

Evening Standard has nice little article on possible shock OPEC oil cut including an possible extension and/ or deeper oil production cuts. They meet this week. Could be nice for AMER
