Big Oil HAVE to acquire profitable smaller operations, as Big Oil are in real trouble with both resource and costs in terms of their exposure to shale losses.

The debt is killing them, so expect predatory moves for many smaller oil companies that are profitable. its the only way Big Oil can rebuild inventory and remove itself from the mess created by shale mindless Ponzi economics

I think you will find that the March acquisitions have been approved. They were referred to in the interims.

Certainly a newbie here and not with a very large holding either but I agree with Martin re: it being a very nice post from Dave. Great story and I am happy to see a happy story like that. It is something we all wish for ourselves and family of course. Perhaps Dave will repeat the story and those with larger holdings will be onboard this time. Might be tempted to add more myself if progress looks to be gaining momentum.

Hola Dave. I just took a back seat on the boards for the last 4 years. But I'm still here, and look in from time to time. As you probably remember, I sold up around the 47 pence to 50 pence mark, took all my money off the table, and moved to Colombia. I did buy some back when they dropped again, but not a serious quantity. (Just for old times'sake). I have to confess that when I look in on the forum, there are often a thousand posts to read, so I never really get to read them all.

But good to know that you and all the guys from the early days are still here. I heard about Val, albeit a bit late, and my thoughts were with him. But its been a long time since those days when we changed from Gold Mines of bloody Sardinia to Chaco, when I first joined you all. Its been a hellova journey, from below 2 pence, all the way up, and back down to where we are now. But after 25 bagging, I feel I did the right thing, and wouldn't change a thing. Now I don't ever need to work again, I'm in the place I want to be, and I'm happier than I have ever been in my life.

I will never forget you guys, for we all gave each other encouragement when we were worried, caution when we were getting over confident, exchanged information, and although I never got to the Bree or the Great Nep, regard you guys as friends. I only wish that the "newbies" would take some lessons from those who have been here since those first days, and realise that we are all on the same side. No need for some of the nastiness that has crept in during the last couple of years.

Anyway, take care, and hope to see the share price back up where it belongs. In fact I'm sure it will before too long, so good luck Dave, and to all.

Well, this is a case of being careful what you wish for.

To all intents and purposes, the Registrar is simply the outsourcing of the company's own share register and of course, it remains the company's responsibility for its oversight.

For a long time, this (and all the companies in which RH invests)have overlooked the notification requirements: when selling down, in some respects, that suits everyone, since the negativity is not broadcast.

Obviously, in this case, the board have been "put on notice" re RH's selling by angry PIs and so we now have notification as per regulations (going through each 1% threshold): in March 2017 it went below 7% and now we are notified that it has gone under 6%. It is a victory for PIs: some might say a Pyrrhic victory.

What becomes evident is that RH is exiting slowly and only at a rate that the market can absorb: since June, less than 60k a day, which is hardly major selling, even in this low volume market.

I wholly agree with those posters who point to performance: we really do need a couple of months of back to back consistently good monthly performance, plus a bit of "jam" today such as the Mariposa LTT kicking off.

The POO backdrop is likely to be good and improving, so the timing could be perfect and LTHs finally see some rewards.

Quid

That makes no sense as on that basis they would not have used company registrar to notify at all. Amerisur have access to who is buying or selling and they knew he was selling and indeed their actions confirm they could get that information but appear to choose not to notify shareholders, but they may have reasons, it may have prevented a massive drop.

There's no excuse in to using the registrar if they wanted, as they themselves prove they could ascertain selling by notifying via company registrar rather than rh

The company needs to show it is making progress with reserves and it's ability to move the oil efficiently and in a fegular fashion. This will generate the interest in the company as an investment which will ultimately 'overpower ' his selling.

FA,
Since he did not/has not advised them, they cannot second guess his actions.
To do so would leave them more open to claims.

I did hear at the time that he had been approached by brokers offering to conduct the disposal in a more open and orderly way but it was rejected.

Corporate governance is, to a degree, a matter of judgement about what is considered to be material and factual.

It is something I have focused on at many AGM's and, by and large, the company ticks the boxes.
I have been more than willing on occasion to express my concerns but on this topic, I can see that they and everyone else cannot be expected to read his mind or second guess his intentions. If he won't communicate with them then there's little they can do.

I reiterate, his selling is and was common knowledge.

Further, and perhaps more importantly going forwards, I don't think its finished yet.
That will exert a continuing downwards pressure on the share price that will diminish as his residual holding does and as the drilling news-flow going into 2018 emerges.
Regards
