Yes I certainly will be glad to see the back of whoever it is and let the Sp find its true level.

Hibernation season for the Amer after the rns glut and AGM excitement. Hole up somewhere until the lure of the St Leger draws back to the social life of the City. Safe and snug for five months, it ain't going nowhere as per, year on year. A predictable beast now.

Imagine the day when Persistent Seller really does head off into the sunset...what a day that will be. Unfortunately, that day still feels some way off at the mo.

adam,

I don't beat myself up over it, but you have to re-assess and cut the chaff, under performance tends to lead to under performance and AMER has certainly under performed.

I was trying to be positive! ... at least short term.

If this was a 6 month hold I wouldn't even be thinking about it, but it isn't... it's several years and the second time round.

Also. I think the oil bears may get a nasty surprise in the medium term.. 6 to 12 months. I am of the view that the underinvestment is being masked by shales short cycle low capex rise and is going to lead to significant price rises in a year.

Al101uk... careful with those woulda' coulda' shoulda' trades. AMER not without issues, but is a low cost producer with no debt and exciting prospects.

I understand that the AGM didn't create any buzz and I'm of the same opinion as many on here who are selling but it seems crazy to me to sell when ONGC Videsh are preparing to test CPO-5. There seems to be no premium for this potential production in the price, so it looks as close to risk free as you can get to me. The very good production numbers around that area, the ready built infrastructure to transport the oil, and a partner that has the funds and motivation to develop the field look extremely enticing to me.

The prospect looks on paper like it could be everything the OBA turned out not to be and I think JW's alleged reaction to the news was a reaction out of relief more than anything else, for reasons I'll go in to in a later post.

Couple more shares on my watchlist to replace some of my AMER holding have got away from me in the last few months, missed the dip to buy back on Glaxo, Bioventrix was on my watch list along with Premier Technical Services. Even my brief encounter with Next looks like it may have been a shrewd move had my AMER funds been available (I decided to leave that on long term watch).

I'm as p'ssed off as anyone with AMER.

The presentation looks good , so did last years and the one in sep16!!

The reality is over promising and under delivering so far.. by several years .. however this has FCF and the share price should really be in the mid 30's by now !

Having said that the next 2-4 weeks sets the scene for a floor on the Sp if they deliver good news and spud plat-25 in Jun.. momentum is key ( aligned with POO, OBA throughout, pump station plan being sorted).

We all need to manage our risk.

I think we should hit 30 in next few weeks once confirmation of the latest rather exciting oil find and I have been accumulating fully expecting us to be 50p by yr end provided poo stays around 50$ which I think it will

I'm struggling to see how the presentation could have been more positive save for a breakthrough on OBA capacity. I'm pretty sure consolidating what we have makes more sense than chasing other options. I guess the reason we can target over extended over leveraged distressed oilers is that we are not. I am puzzled about how 20k bpd production can be transported through the RODA system but I guess that's why JW is spending time over the border. A new pipeline will help but don't hold your breath. Meanwhile, the natives aren't restless, quite the reverse it seems so that wasn't Rex's motivation for selling.Something not yet mentioned in dispatches is the reserve of $24mm in tax losses sitting in reserves which are planned to be used this year.Don't put all your money into water treatment unless the company has perfected graphene filtration which is a game changer.

I think if our huge areas surrounding Plantanillo are as equally prolific then a pound or 2 isn't out of the question imo.

well, ive sold half of mine today. I suppose I was hoping for some fireworks at the AGM, like a takeover bid. Ill keep the rest, and can live with that amount, and just leave them without looking at the price constantly! Sell in May and go away.. and all that

I can see Jc 1's point - nothing substantive emanated from the AGM re increasing the OBA throughput in the short/medium term. The pipeline was touted by the BoD as the game changer but since it was first put into operation they have been remarkably coy about when improvements will be made.

However, I am staying put and have purchased a few more for my SIPP. In the longer term, this will make us all money; in the short term, I suspect that our patience is going to continue to be tested.

Jc1, if you don't see the upside from here from 16 new wells in the next 18 months costing $65 million funded from cashflow and the profits from achieving 20000 bpd good luck to you!

This company needs some good news and fast. That's News - not regurgitated promises of free beer tomorrow. The demonstrable lack of ambition, constantly moving timescales and apparent ambivalence towards making money leaves me cold. There is nothing on the table here further to the AGM - no planned leverage of existing Capital, no potential acquisitions, no significant ramping up of production... I'm out for now. Best of luck people.

Concur .. thanks for all the feedback from the AGM attendees. 😎

Let's hope we get good news over the next 2-4 weeks on the Platanillo-21 drill around 18may & flow test results Mariposa-1 around 2jun.

The best commodity to be in now is water or more specifically water treatment, as demand for clean drinking, irrigation and waste water is growing, and increasingly being required by legislation (India, China, Middle East, etc).

Thus see MWG currently 32p should return to 150p - 200p.

Fully revenue earning, contracts building, with pivotal £22m contract expected later this year.

Gulfsands Petroleum has been awarded an extension to its Llanos-50 Contract in Colombia. The Company continues to seek a partner for the LLA-50 Contract.

Wonder if our BOD are looking at this?
