Some concern still remains over lowly sp, and whether with acquisition there might follow a placing, as front running would be clear but much would need explaining

just for the breadman!! lol

weekly cloud chart. As you can see the lagging line is still beneath the cloud as is the price, both marked orange circle. Until those levels clear the cloud this is still in neg territory. Patience still needed.

With a positive OBA update, and decent drilling result news, quite a bit higher.

It's would be nice to have the chart experts amongst us give their opinion on where we could be heading.

1bn barrells, 50k bpd production, $40 profit -> £4

Just a bit of fun, but we can dream, eh?

Did Amer already have an interest in Tacacho?

Page 2 states they have acquired 50.5% but also states post approval 100% working interest will be held.

Pretty self explanatory but I don't recall hearing of this block before.

Amerisur Resources

An acquisition this morning for AMER who have paid Pacific E&P $4.85m plus modest royalties for what looks like another really value adding deal. The vendor appears to be to a certain extent at the whim of its banks and accordingly is taking what to me seems like a knock-down price for the exploration assets whilst keeping the production. This suits AMER as they get really large stakes in prime blocks, mainly adjacent to the OBA pipeline which they can farm-down in due course as they have done before. With a number of these blocks under force-majeure there is little or no capex requirement and they are ‘commitment light’ so AMER can pick the off at their leisure especially the 100% ones. The Put-12 and Platanillo look obvious targets as they are so close to the OBA and would be economically the best as well as the T and U sands in Put-9.

I see this as being analogous to previous deals where John Wardle has ended up with a host of leads and opportunities as well as selling of a small piece which pays for the whole deal. Amerisur has been weak of late as the market gets impatient about the lack of drilling short term but there is much to come including the current one. Even after today’s rally the shares are a compelling buy for significant long term value connoisseurs.

also -----------

Oil prices extended gains on Thursday as an unexpected drop in U.S. crude stockpiles boosted market sentiment.

Brent crude, the global oil benchmark, rose 1.1% to $52.36 a barrel on London's ICE Futures exchange. On the New York Mercantile Exchange, West Texas Intermediate futures were trading up 1% at $49.34 a barrel.

Well this is looking exciting again, presentation looks great. I think it's safe to say that of all the things GC can be accused of, a profligate spender is not one of them. With Malcy's clarification on the bottleneck (not an issue effectively) and GC reaching in to the coffers to make another acquisition based on the same strategy I'm feeling mighty re-assured.

Enough to make a top up... nope, I've got far far too many and this last few weeks has made me realise that I'm outside my comfort zone.

Lucy - I do think that JW IS that shrewd - and I am hoping that he would have known about the pumping station problems and the squeeze it might have put on others.

In the meantime - thye oil stays in the ground - hopefully accumulating value - until a time that they decide to pump !! Unfortunately , all too late for me
