28/7/2014 19:19 | I would argue the coal in the ground is worth nothing until the project starts construction | anotherardbeg
28/7/2014 15:11 | Not sure there would be a problem getting money out of the banks if the JV gets the BFS right. Pay back inless then 9 years with a good margin to boot. The coal in the ground is worth nothing. It only has value once it is dug up and converted to fuel. | newkid
28/7/2014 14:20 | The way I see it ANR can go one of two ways. 1) 1p to 0p - not far to fall 2) 1p to anywhere - pick a number. I quite like that. Remember ANR own the asset - it has value on it's own - it has much more value with BFS sorted. Let's see what happens next - today is the 28th - Thursday is the 31st. Best of luck everyone Cheeky x | cheekyfella
28/7/2014 13:20 | Without being unfair and having held for nearly 7 years. I have just updated the notes on my 'trucked in a draw' section of my portfolio. For these added dead horse. The project is just too big for a jr, even with a Chinese JV. Even a major company very cash rich would struggle with this. Think share price says it all. Just don't know where it can go. Hope am wrong. | p bear
28/7/2014 12:26 | totally agree pembury. I think the production costs were estimated about $3.5bn (?) and that was a few years ago when we were still hopefully CNOOC would get on with it. | mc7y
28/7/2014 11:18 | Surely they will go for 50/50 or close and carried through to BFS and then sell on once BFS hopefully completed successfully?. Or in other words a situation not far off to what CNOOC were offering. The asset still has the same potential as when CNOOC bought in all those years ago. Maybe one day CNOOC will bid for it if they get BFS?, ie derisked significantly. No way SinoA could fund this project to production imo looking at their credentials but probably could take it through feasibility stages. Prove it up then look at options?. | pembury
25/7/2014 22:25 | If ANR reaches 5p by 2017 without share price consolidation, I will be very very very happy. | cheekyfella
25/7/2014 15:57 | Somebody likes them quite a big buyer at 1.03p earlier | 21trader
25/7/2014 15:56 | I think ANR shareholders will be happy with next week's JV RNS and expect share price to be 50% above current level at the end of next week. GLA | zulu88
25/7/2014 15:55 | fair points Tarni. On the government backing - they must be getting a bit concerned about all the delays - this project can be an important part of the South AUS economy if Wintask/ANR don't overstretch their patience with the licenses that we have been granted. I think it is helpful that CL and others have done some good political bridge building over the past years. However we can't trade off that for much longer. | mc7y
25/7/2014 15:42 | mc7y, That depends on how you look at it. Anr have the right type of coal. The right location and climate for a CTM plant. Market for the end products. Government backing. Product lifetime of 70 years. You can't buy any of these. All ANR need is finance which they could get elsewhere given time. Wintask already own 29% of Anr so they would be keen to hold on to a large percentage if possible. Alternatively you could say that anr has to take a deal now because they can't afford to start again with another party. anotherardbeg, For all the moaning that has been directed at CL he has always managed to come up with a deal to fight another day. All the share dilution to date has been as a result of delays on CNOOC side. Had he not the light would have been turned off long ago. What you have to remember is that all the previous options have expired. The management didn't deliver and they didn't receive. | tarni
25/7/2014 15:25 | Don't be surprised to see the management's faces firmly in the trough. | anotherardbeg
25/7/2014 14:43 | With CNOOC it would have been about 30% and I can't see this being better than that as I am not convinced we have much leverage. | mc7y
25/7/2014 14:14 | I should think the haggling is over. I'm curious is as to the purpose of visiting Arckaringa other than a last minute PR trip as there not much to see. Why would you go to the expense of such a trip if you though it would lead to nothing? I believe that Wintask are capable of financing up to the BFS stage even without Sino-Aus. But with both we could see a JV that would see us through to completion. It's not a case of if a JV is signed but more to do with the terms of the JV that will seal our fate on whether is turns into a multi bagger or not. If we are left with a few percent it may be time to move on. | tarni
25/7/2014 13:45 | Yes, that's the theory for most LT'ers. Mind you, there are some here who were probably saying the same thing 7 years ago! I've only been here for 5 years, so I'm still a relative newcomer | fozdad
25/7/2014 13:35 | I'm cautiously optimistic. This is a great project. I've been invested here for quite some time - now have an excellent asp. I ANR get to where I think they can get to in 7 years time, I will have a blissful retirement. | cheekyfella
25/7/2014 13:28 | i guess they are still haggling down to the wire our fate awaits us... | mc7y
25/7/2014 12:21 | you and me both NK | p0pper
25/7/2014 09:26 | How things have changed. I have had many chats with CL in the past. When we got involved with CNOOC this stopped. Maybe he thought he was to big to speak to a mere investor. Just hope it's good news on or before the 31st. | newkid
25/7/2014 07:29 | P0pper, what has he said that hadn't already been RNS'd? If the questions were asked as in post 16792, the answers could be derived from RNS's Has DD been complete? - this was available from the May 15 RNS Has a site visit been complete? - also available from I May 15 RNS ( a better question would have been "has the follow up site visit taken place?") Will we get an update on July 31st as stated in RNS? - the answer is in the question! Having said that, I have never managed to get ANY answers to ANY questions, so well done AIMshares for achieving a response | fozdad
25/7/2014 06:36 | Aimshares, I am surprised he told you that much, I don't think he should of, or been allowed to tell you that let alone any more. | p0pper
24/7/2014 13:44 | Sold some time ago was thinking about getting back in not decided yet.Phoned ANR yesterday . Asked if DD was completed theAnswer. YesAsked has a site visit completed Answer yesThen asked would we get a update on JV talks as per RNS stating 31 July or before .Answer. Yes And that's all he would say and would not comment on if a JV would be successful .Just kept on saying everything would be clear on the update and that's all he could tell me at this time.It was really just a 1 min conversation got the impression he did not want talk and was in hurry to put the phone down.So after the conversation the only thing I no is that DD is done and site visit completed. But still have no idea if a JV will go ahead. Now got to decide do I take the risk or not , not much time left before the 31 July and could get the update any time. Hmm take risk or not. | aimshares
22/7/2014 16:31 | await the delay rns pjs | pembury
22/7/2014 16:25 | so tempting to buy some more at this price but poss JV announcement due shortly and yet price still drops.worries me if news has leaked that talksnot going well as the city always knows before we do. Or is it that investors are now wary of this co after deadline after missed deadline.Maybe those burned will never come back even if news is good. How many times in the past have ANR given good news thats been trumpeted here,,look at the price. Do I buy more???????????????? | pjackson64 |
