put in a limit buy order, telling the broker the top price you are willing to pay

Very frustrating today.
I've been trying to buy a little top up, only £10k thru Hargreaves Lansdown and simply impossible to get a quote.
If free float is very scarce, why isn't the price moving?

Yup, someone clearly has confidence and willing to part with over £300k, thrown in the TR1 and you have a whole load of shares moved into safe long term holding hands. Free float was small before today, it just got a whole lot smaller.

I doubt it. There are a number of shareholders holding just under the TR1 3% threshold. Suspect he has just decided to go public with his holding.

Baghdaddy73, that's a substantial holding, you are obviously extremely confident in Alpha Growth increasing in value.

I'm not a major shareholders but consider my 3% minus 1 share holding as very large, others may differ in their opinion.

Baghdaddy73, large is sometimes relative and very large is often subjective, well anyway, that's what my ex wife told me.
But, I do agree with you and if necessary I would support such an request.
However, I'm sure we should get some upward movement on the share price before the end of February 23.
5p would be nice.

Steve81860, there's a huge difference between a typo and grammatical ignorance, I know it and you know it.
Soon, we'll be having posts saying would of, could of, should of etc.
Is this London English now?

bullrun1, hope your right?.
Not hope you are right?.
Your is a possessive noun, i.e your hous, your dog.
You are is a conjugation of the verb, to be.
I am, you are, he, she, it is
I'd have far more conviction in YOUR hope of traction, if you were capable of posting in English at the level of a 10yr old.

Company has plenty of funding options for future acquisitions, warrants will come into play soon enough which if all are exercised will provide more than enough for acquisition(s) to add $500 million AUM, they also have the option to leverage assets. GS has personally told me they would look at all other options before going to the market, and as a very large shareholder, they would have my full support for any such undertaking.

personally I believe we will be a lot higher share price wise if a placing is required to strengthen their position with another acquisition, after the company has shared more information on revenue and future projections..it will be at a premium price imho.

He doesn't own any shares, he's a subterranean bridge dweller well known for disruptive threads, couple of user names on lse, best ignored.

Well then you're into crystal ball territory. Sell up if you are nervous, buy in when you feel the price is right or look elsewhere.

Agree, a placing for an acquisition is better, but going from saying they won’t do another placing and changing that to we could do another placing for the right acquisition is a significant statement I don’t want to ignore.
