Actually the trades in question are marked as XOFF OB - off book non automated trades so not an algo. They could be MMs balancing up some accounts or something. Nothing sinister though, by the way I was an 'algorithmic trader' a couple of years ago so I try to defend algos a bit. They're just doing what the quant told them to do!

if you google it you'll find some detailed explanations... but its basically computer programmed algorithmic trading.

Can anyone explain why, on occasion, we get a slew of tiny trades (we've just had 16 just reported, none of which amounted to more than 30 quid's worth).

I also posted, on 23rd April, the following:
"From experience we should, by now, all know that GS can be over optimistic on timelines and the RCF counterparty has proved to be glacial in making it's mind up and closing a deal.
Do not therefore be surprised if, and I quote "The Company expects to make a further update regarding this before the end of April." if the update gets pushed back into May."

On 22nd April, over on LSE, I posted this:
"IF the RCF counterparty takes up a decent quantity of those 100 policies then, IMO, ALGW will have proved it's case in the big, grown up world, of asset management and the only way will be up.
10p would be my guestimate."
Notice the capitalised 'IF' and no mention of when.

I'll be amazed if GS is 'on time' with the 'further update'.
This from the Trading Update on 9th April:
"The Company EXPECTS to make a further update regarding this before the end of April."

Is it not the case that the company said it aimed/hoped/expected to issue an update by the end of April - as opposed to given a guarantee thereof?

Could easily get a quote to well 350k in one go so they want the shares. More likely spread wide to discourage traders. Someone been buying the dip so will move back up soon enough
