In the 20th Sept presentation the August figures for Afentras interest were at 6,600 bopd

Block 3/05 = 21,000 bopd x 30% = 6,300 bopd.

Block 3/05A = 1,450 bopd x 21.33% = 309 bopd.

It will be interesting to see where they are now almost 2 months later given injection rates and continued activity.

3/05 has gone from 17,200 bopd in Q1 to 19,000 bopd in April to 21,000 bopd in August this year. If 3/05 rises by another 1,500 bopd they could soon be through 7,000 bopd.

Ultimately over the next 3-4 years 3/05 alone has the potential to reach 35,000 bopd peak (July presentation).

China Sonangol International Holding, Limited, has been expelled from the Block 3/05-A partnership for defaulting on its financial obligations. China Sonangol’s 25% stake was transferred pro-rata to the other partners. The post-transfer ownership of the Lower Congo Basin block is as follows:

• Sonangol P&P (Operator) – 33.33%
• Maurel & Prom – 26.68%
• Azule Energy – 16%
• Etu Energias – 13.33%
• NIS Naftagas – 5.33%
• Afentra – 5.33%

This forced transfer was enacted by Executive Decree 227/23, of 10 October 2023..."

Not sure who's behind China Sonangol....and wonder what the story is?

There seem to be finance issues with the Chinese elsewhere atm : Rio's having to 'front' its partners contributions to progress a joint iron-ore project in Guinea, Simandou.

It’s the poorest commentary on a company I’ve seen. Don’t be rushing out to be a Times subscriber. A 10 year old could have put together a better article. Thankful I’ve done my own research.

40p is only round the corner. With Brent running higher and potential liftings prior to deal being signed off, I won't be surprised to see this at 120m valuation promptly.

It's really surprising this stock is not now moving up and correlating with the strong oil price.

Then again this is AIM. Where most are happy to risk their hard earned money on a man next to a hole with a shovel promising there is gold down there

Yes, back in 2002 it was called Sterling Energy PLC. It kept that name until 2021.
