19/4/2005 00:53 | maxidio - I think it is time they banked their profit. Do the right thing and tell them to sell to realise their gain. They might have achieved near two bagger status but a profit is not a profit until it is banked. Dont forget to be a good samaritan and let them move back in with you once the bricks and mortar have been sold! | sumo barry
03/1/2005 17:57 | My daughter and her husband bought a house for 97k and now it's worth 280k, so there. | maxidio
02/1/2005 22:30 | tulk, I can't say whether it is a good idea or not to continue holding, but the code for the current price in the UK is BNC. There is also a (not very active) BB thread on here. See the BNC thread. pvb | pvb
12/12/2004 11:23 | Could some one explain what all these Sanstanders below have to do with the one Sanstander which bought ANL recently " Webcast Alert: Banco Santander- Chile Presentation at Informed Investors Financial Services/REIT Virtual Forum to be Webcast on Dec. 9, 2004, 11:30 am ET Fri, Dec 3 - Business Wire Banco Santander-Chile Earnings Call scheduled for 2:00 pm ET today Fri, Oct 29 - CCBN Banco Santander Santiago Announces Results For The Third Quarter 2004 Fri, Oct 29 - PR Newswire Webcast Alert: Banco Santander-Santiago Announces Third Quarter 2004 Earnings Conference Call Fri, Oct 29 - PR Newswire " They seem to be very active... I saw on yahoo SAN (NYSE) traded last at 30.29 up 2.61%, which mean it reachs the peak of Feb 2004, Avearage Vol is high, possible a breakout. I have trade my ANLs, in for SANs share, does it mean that my share bloom? If it is not how do I get the SAN on Spanish morket? Do you intend to setup a page to follow how Spain's SAN develop? Is someone else in the same boot: still hold and count on continous success of this Sanstander bank? It was a chaos recently? what do you think now, would you continue to hold or would you wait for the special div and sell? | tulk

20/11/2004 20:52 | Or for a Banco Santander quote in the UK just try the 'EPIC' BNC. pvb | pvb
19/11/2004 01:17 | Wendsworth, Hola que tal? Banco satander 9,15 e up 0.01 @ .70p= £6.405p mire Buenas noches y tener suerte. salud roberto. | rpall
15/11/2004 09:53 | Lofty - price for what? You won't find Abbey if that's what you are looking for as they are no longer listed. Santander have got some form of secondary UK listing under the epic BNC, but price is driven by main listing on Madrid under the epic SAN. | dvda
15/11/2004 09:37 | broadwood. I'm not a holder but intrigued as to no price shown this morning. Ideas? | lofty
15/11/2004 08:54 | Banco San up 9p at present this morning - thats equivalent to an approximate price rise of 11p for Abbey! | broadwood
13/11/2004 20:48 | Droogy Got it from yahoo finance section. The EPIC is SAN and they are listed on Madrid exchange. | dvda
13/11/2004 20:23 | Well done to all holders that held on to the finish .Your patience was rewarded with ANLtrading at over 650p for a while. Those so-called sector pundits were considerably wide of the mark after HBOS ruled themselves out of the running.Only wished I'd bought back in at 546p ! I didn't have the courage to stay the distance .Still a five figure profit isn't to be sneezed at . Buenos noches !!! | wendsworth
12/11/2004 16:49 | Bye, bye ANL. pvb | pvb
12/11/2004 14:53 | Thanks for taking the time to reply to that dvda. I'm already down on these as I bought in higher. Though the loss is not as bad as it was!!!! PHEW. I reckon its time to get rid and make it up on something else. Where did you get the banco price? The link I followed showed 11p. Hence my worry. Got it. Thanks googly | droogy
12/11/2004 14:46 | Anyone holding ANL shares at the end of today will have them replaced with Santander shares on a 1 for 1 basis. The current price of SAN is 8.86 euros, so about £6.20. That's a drop of c. 30p on today's price, but you get that back via the 31p dividend. How the SAN share price reacts next week is another matter, but I can't see it moving much either way as everyone knows this takeover is happening. Any +ve/-ve sentiment should already be in the price. | dvda
12/11/2004 14:15 | Yep I realise they become banco. Just wondering as a rough idea where you peeps see the price of a ANL share being equal to after the change. If that makes sense. | droogy
12/11/2004 14:12 | The Abbey shares won't exist after 4.30 today, so the price can't drop. | dvda |
