Thanks Stinger, I am ready for the next wave of news. Good to hear you closed your short/long/short - I wasn't quite sure myself which phase we were in! I appreciate you have to be discrete, so radio silence is a given. I predict we will get some more news in the next 4 weeks, although I don't have any contacts to verify. I have never heard of Jefferies, but will get to work rereading al the RNS's

Jeffries are on the ball, they must have spent a fortune on forensic investigation of company accounts to come up with this figure. I wonder how much the Financial Experts were paid for this.

goblin, no probs. I'll keep you informed as and when I hear any leaks. Until then all I can suggest is you keep reading the RNS's. 35 p is the new Jeffries TP though which is a 600% increase hence I closed my short !!.

Good on you Stinger, I knew you'd come good. I think many on here doubted you, not me Sir! Keep up the good work - it's at times like this, we need all the wee morsels of information we can get. I'm hoping the banana loaf went down well. Are there meetings planned for tomorrow as well??

Be prepared for an alternative offer/bid.. !! 'rumour'' is ABC are discussing alternatives with a possible interested party.... Hence Bidco's RNS today..

PPS and as always I was wrong - the Q is who controlls the debt - economic owners are probably my mom and dad and the kinds

PS - I am not technically versed in specific English technical terms - as it is only my third language

point being - fate will be decided else where

bonds are usually in managed porfolios - managed by banks ! and other assets managers

exatly that why I was asking all the time - who owns enough!!! debt to overvote in the eventual restructuring

debt rules until paid over the equity and its owners are not known - in general

and I was painting not a sure or probable but a possible scenario

"because you will get the business even cheaper in the debt restructuring"

Not necessarily, debt default takes the company back into the hands of the debt holders and not the administrator (it is a WBS). They will decide how to restructure and they won't hand over debt on the cheap to opportunists just because of a default.

I only thought they will not do it at home - but they do not care any more probably

yes it is worth loosing 35p bid- if you can control restructuring - if AA will default on its debt - which was signalled by BOD and or the press - because you will get the business even cheaper in the debt restructuring

bad bank debt bought on the cheap, converting it into the equity Apollo style lol

was given that Apollo stick myself lol

30% eg 70 % discount through bad debt instead of paying the tag price

bank losses get then socialized every other decade or so - like airlines

I've not seen the Telegraph article but I believe Drew has basically said up the price to a more favourable price and we will back you.
Volume would indicate that we're at stalemate. PE will have to get ABC onside to win the AA. Is it worth losing the deal for the sake of another 60-100 million?
A revised offer that gets ABC acceptance will win the day.

this offer will be rejected only if disgruntled shareholders organise refi on their own - which they did in some companies of smaller size. I am not sure about their capacity at AA size

Think it's about time the canarys have to sing for their supper after the performance they have given us so far I believe nothing is below this disgraceful board of directors.

They could be filling us with fear that the AA will go to the wall if this offer is rejected surprised they have not done this before now the selling has dried up so they will need new tactics .

Constant repetition of an " argument" serves only to diminish it: boring

Yesterday
No RNS from ABC, Cleveland Square or DK.
Blackrock said they sold 2m on Friday so I'm guessing they aren't going to put an offer in.
Weiss notified that they bought 750k on Friday, following their 2.75m purchase on Thursday.
No change in shorts declared.
The 2022 bond dropped 0.99% to close at 97.96%. In August when there were multiple potential bidders the bond price was trading 95%-96%, so likelihood of a deal is currently higher IMO
