Good thoughts. I was lucky to unload at 491 day after dk/entain. On my watchlist and looks time to buy back

Decent re-entry point for any short termers as likely to be a bullish update IMO. £4 has been recent support, Entain results next week and DKN takeover has to formalise by the 19th so plenty of catalysts in October. £4.80-£4.90 was a bit frothy even for LTH’s as we got sucked into the merger frenzy but i will be adding some at these levels. The leftfield bull would also argue we are a sitting duck for a takeover too. Only bear point is we do have an equity raise to announce for the WMH acquisition

For sure. And I Should have sold Gan when it rapidly rose to 30 but I didn't and now languishing at 15.i would sooner leave some profit on the table than watch it slip away.

Never a bad idea to realise some profit, especially in a sector where regulators can bite you on the bottom sometimes.

Sure doctor but they went from 320p to 80p over a 2 year period 2018/20 which wasn’t pretty to sit through at the time.

Probably right to trade a few now at these prices, but the consolidation factor is big now and these will be surely 650p for a takeover, they have to be to tempt shareholders away from the current virtually 500p we have now.......sell some keep some!

Me too. just cashed in my larger Isa holding and hanging on to non Isa. Valuation looks a tad stretched-and you never get poor taking a good profit!

Just realising the value here, that 888 jumped and have sealed both online and B&M dream ticket. Just need a new company name like the umbrella Flutter and entain. PR company will charge 100K I will throw Pastime, Lucky Number and NJYMNT into the ring for half that. Watch this space

Perhaps to get the deal financed the providers of debt insisted on 25% equity of the total amount to be raised so they could share in the upside.More risk by taking on £1.5bill debt but also more potential upside. It will also be interesting to see who the owners of our additional £500 mill equity will be -as that info could also support our share price at whatever level it settles

If memory serves the BOD and major holders rejected the last bid at £2 odd holding out for £3 which never came. If they an now do the Hills deal selling shares for north of £4 they have been thoroughly vindicated

Should please Doctor888 making our fundraise easier and less costly.

As to why its necessary I guess you just have to trust the maths. They will have modelled the cash flows and looked at what is required for development and marketing as well as a sustainable dividend. I don't really think funding an acquisition that large was ever going to happen with 100% debt although I agree if it were it would be better for shareholders (debt costing less than equity) although they may have had to forgo dividends

By my calculations, the acquisition of WH increases the value of 888 by circa 10% per share after dilution, but I agree with Makinbuks that there is execution risk. However, 888 has proven to be an excellent acquirer in the past.

I must say that I don't understand the point of the fundraise just to make the balance sheet look nice. Who cares (unless other acquisitions are being considered)? As long as the company is generating cash, the debt will be paid off in time. Many US companies, such as Home Depot, have negative equity, but generate plenty of cash that can pay off the debt quickly if they so chose. I am against the fundraise unless of course it is at a much higher price than the current share price (say, >>30%, which I think is unlikely). I am probably missing something, but if anyone can enlighten me as to why a fundraise would make sense, please do!

Yes I agree and hold the shares, my point was that taking on £1.5bn of debt to realise that ambition has increased the business risk. The US is not a factor as we already had that upside

A £500mill fundraise to acquire a company costing over £2bill & to result in 888 being a major player, also with a presence in the Us sports betting market which they will hope to grow.

Considering there's a £500m fundraise on the horizon they have done remarkably well. Appropriately for a gambling company we are rolling the dice here I feel. Yes the potential upside is great bit we have significantly increased business risks too
