Looking at market forecasts, I still think they're quite a bit too low and therefore 888 looks like a very decent bet on a 2-3 year basis. Market forecasts are 31 cents for FY23 - I'd be surprised if they deliver less than 30p, and putting this on a 20x PE, which doesnt seem over the top given the returns which these guys generate, gets you to a 600p share price

Last year there was a trading update around now.

The pull back in the share price in recent days suggests that some know the figures are not going to be as expected. Hope I am wrong.

Some clarity on the Sports Illustrated minority passive interest..Earlier Wednesday, Bloomberg reported that the deal would run for 20 years. Authentic Brands Group would receive a licensing fee from 888 for the use of the Sports Illustrated brand. Good announcement, though the "minority passive interest" wording is a little weird as it sounds like taking a stake. Why not refer to it as 'royalty payments' or revenue share, if they're cutting what is in effect a cost of sale?

Should be positive for the share price though...just odd wording choice!

Looks like an excellent long term opportunity for 888. Interesting that ABG takes a minority passive interest in 888 which i think reads a % of certain revenues. As i have been banging on about for the last 12 months its only a matter of time before we get swallowed up. Best in class proprietary tech, platform and brand. Buy hold and forget!

Looking at the link from dandigirl there is a quite detailed item on 888 stating that it has been running 50% off buy-ins to their poker tournaments whilst guaranteeing the same levels of prize money. It would seem that one held earlier in the year suffered a small loss.

There was another scheduled for yesterday 20th so maybe that struggled. Who knows? Just maybe the reason for the current decline if the markets are taking the view that these sales are a sign of falling revenue. AIMO

Agree with your view that this is a "buy/hold/forget stock". They generate very high returns on capital and should continue to grow the top-line nicely. I dont see that the share price is particularly demanding at a 20x-ish PE for this year in that context, and as such I'm happy to just let mine run.

I dont see this making 50% p.a. but could the share price deliver 20% p.a. for a few years? I definitely think it can so happy to hold in the midcap part of my PF.
