21/3/2018 11:34 | Does look over done - revenues healthy and sports healthy in particular | trentendboy
21/3/2018 10:42 | eeza Thanks for that link it helps explain the sudden drop but it appears to me that the fall is overdone. The article mentions a drop of 'about 7%' of revenue should this become final. The share price has already dropped around 12% since last weeks peak. However with this going on in the background It would be difficult to arrive at any agreement for a takeout if any talks were contemplated. | peaeff
20/3/2018 13:32 | i don't wholly disagree but the mergers suggest the market has/is reaching saturation so they could plateau if they dont do something soon. ie there are no more players to take a rake off etc for their percentage in each market. | finkie
20/3/2018 12:44 | The rumours here have been cropping up for years. Since the last William Hill £2 offer was turned down the share price has grown 50%+ so survival isn't an issue. The approval of online betting in US has taken far longer than anyone expected and is still an issue over there. It was expected to be a big plus for 888 but despite it we have still grown. If a takeover or merger occurs it will be a bonus but I don't think it's a necessity for 888 to grow further and produce good shareholder value. | peaeff
20/3/2018 12:29 | only ok results for me and the market wanted to hear something on an approach i guess but all silent there too. This could slip back to 260p now. | finkie
20/3/2018 11:33 | Buy on rumour, sell on news (or just before). | ricardothebrave
20/3/2018 09:45 | Too low as far as I am concerned, bought here. | bulltradept
20/3/2018 09:00 | Having read the figures prior to the market opening I am failing to understand the reasoning behind such a sharp drop in share price between Friday and this morning. I thought the figures made good reading, despite a slightly lower dividend, even to the point where current year revenue is up 6%. See what the rest of the day brings. Any comments. regards | peaeff
19/3/2018 18:07 | Strange move today - result leak?Otherwise the FOBT news is driving the sector. Of course, once that is sorted 888 will be snapped up pretty darn quick | trentendboy
16/3/2018 19:39 | Results should prove interesting reading. Profitability and margins in focus. | coxsmn
15/3/2018 11:48 | Things are really flying now - it is clear that insiders are piling in ahead of a bid announcement. Be results if the results alone were driving this rise | trentendboy
14/3/2018 12:48 | Figures out next Tuesday I doubt anything will happen before then, but if they're good it may well spark some action. | peaeff
14/3/2018 09:57 | im just waiting daily for the announcement agreed offer at x | finkie

21/1/2018 11:45 | Wmh paid £486m in 2013, i wonder how much would be written off if they tried to sell it now. | coxsmn
16/1/2018 17:35 | To build a war chest ready for a £3.50 punt on 888? We can only hope | makinbuks
16/1/2018 12:43 | Today's Telegraph"BOOKMAKER William Hill may jettison its Australian business as the costs linked to running the division become increasingly onerous. The British bookmaker bought its way into the Australian market under former chief executive Ralph Topping with the $670m (£486m) purchase of Sportingbet in 2013 and the $34m acquisition of tomwaterhouse.com in the same year." | coxsmn
15/1/2018 18:55 | TEB Certainly see your POV and agree we must be a target, but we have been now for a lengthy time. There were issues in respect of taxes, possibly to be backdated, which may be owed to EU governments not to mention any possible effect of Brexit in the future. These things were mentioned in the interims and were the possible cause, among others, for the sharp drop in share price at that time. Have they been resolved?. a Little more information would be nice. Holding for the immediate future. regards | peaeff
15/1/2018 18:10 | Will keep holding and taking decent dividendStill throwing off cash and no chance it will remain independent for longCan see a TO mid 300sEasy return ? | trentendboy
15/1/2018 14:11 | This continued rise is a bit surprising but nevertheless welcomed. There was not a lot in the last update to suggest progress of this kind and the content of the half year figures were what started the decline in share price this year. Very undecided what to do, go with the flow and wait for results, or top slice a nice few quid. any other views? | peaeff
09/1/2018 17:21 | Trades suggest it’s in play with a bid imminent | finkie |
