31/1/2007 17:12 | From Citywire yesterday "But broker Numis today suggested the pair may have disagreed on 'management style, focus and direction'. The broker said Black and Holt are 'perceived as chalk and cheese in their management style'. Black's resignation comes as Mears is widely expected to embark on ambitious corporate activity buoyed by a strong share price." | ![]() gjd
31/1/2007 15:24 | Bob Holt had effectively retired from an executive position in the company - and had recently sold his entire holding. He has been drafted back at very short notice. If all is well at the next trading update then fine, but I would wait for confirmation of this first. | fellowes2
31/1/2007 15:12 | Some big investers may be taking up the opportunity given to them to manipulate the share price and pick up some big chunks at cheap prices. | chakhan
31/1/2007 14:59 | A CEO resigning unexpectedly is never good news, I would be very careful here. Anyone thinking of investing would be very wise to wait untill the next trading update. The fact that there is no explanation given for the resignation is even more concerning IMO. | fellowes2

30/1/2007 09:51 | Not sure about that, why would he need to resign, the Company could just give him leave as usually happens. I would be very careful IMO. | fellowes2
30/1/2007 09:48 | No reason given for the resignation, bad news on the way I wonder?? | fellowes2
30/1/2007 09:48 | Stuart Black has resigned (w.i.e.) and Bob Holt is to be chief executive. Mr Black said he is leaving to take up a management course at Harvard. Surely the price-slump is an over-reaction? | sunburst
