19/12/2008 08:00 | technically 30th December, but we could have this sewn up by Monday. Excuse me all while I call up my banker and vote yes for the shares I acquired yesterday. | ![]() miamisteve
19/12/2008 07:54 | If people don't vote is this taken as a no vote with all brokers? Whate date is the final day for voting? | ![]() superyids
18/12/2008 22:56 | For added security,I had already sent my offer document by special delivery.It cost £4.60p. | ![]() imperial3
18/12/2008 20:51 | Always was a lot of hot money chasing the IEC story. T20ers will bide their time before entering but when the 1st few start to buy the rest will follow. | ![]() debbiegee
18/12/2008 20:28 | Another problem sorted for IEC - NO POSTAL STRIKE ANNOUNCED. Unions meeting today ended positivly | cesar1
18/12/2008 18:18 | I am very encouraged. After eventually receiving my offer documents earlier in the week from Barclays and Nat West, this evening I received a phone call from IEC representatives asking if I had any problems/queries etc. Obviously they didn't have any information on total acceptances but I am more positive on the final outcome. For the record my 0.007% voted for the takeover. | ![]() bahamasoil
18/12/2008 17:50 | Cliffy, as I mentioned yesterday (about predicted 9-9.30am up spike this morning) and the closing action... I think it's very clear what's going on here.. the little guys (us) will always be the last to know (whilst the bigger fish accumulate).. that's what the charts show anyhoo. | phil2003
18/12/2008 17:22 | I'm a financial writer. I've asked IEC's PR firm and advisers to call me tomorrow. The discount to the £12.50-per-share bid from ONGC must be there for a reason, so I am to find out *precisely* what is causing it... Cliff | cliffyburger
18/12/2008 16:44 | Nook Nook, sounds all very positive, hopefully timed my buying quite nicely, even if it wasn't through a bespoke service....;-) | pingu08
18/12/2008 16:38 | Thanks for that msteve, I was beginning to worry that I'd misunderstood what I heard. Certainly wouldn't want to be responsible for anyone making decisions as a result of my cloth ears. | currantone
18/12/2008 16:36 | A not insignificant 40,000 share buy order left unfilled at the auction. | ![]() miamisteve
18/12/2008 16:30 | Can confirm currantones statement. Just bought a further 4500 shares. | ![]() miamisteve
18/12/2008 16:27 | Squinty, what's the tel. no. for merrill in order to inform them of the inactivity of TDW and others? | ![]() super y
18/12/2008 15:57 | I wouldn't want that either K, I simply phoned the number I was given by SQF a few posts ago and I put it down as I understood it. Anyone could do the same I imagine. If this was confidential in some way I'm sure I'd be the last person to know simply owning a few hundred of these in a pension fund. | currantone
18/12/2008 15:51 | currantone, I hope you're telling the truth, I wouldn't like people buying in on that post. yes I'm a holder but hate ramping almost more than deramping. Great if it is true though :-) | ![]() katsy
18/12/2008 15:48 | currantone - Did that info about being already intouch with over 90% of holders come from a phone call with ML just now? | ![]() miamisteve
18/12/2008 15:38 | OK thanks for that sq. It seems that the number of such shares held in nominee form is very small and whereas they are grateful for any shareholders who do cough up an admin charge for the privilege of voting they don't seem to be concerned that it will make much difference in the long run. This is because they are in touch with holders of well in excess of 90% of the total and seem to be pretty confident of the outcome. The big discount between 12.50 and current share price is due to the various unsubstantiated rumours floating about it seems. | currantone
18/12/2008 15:37 | Holders should need no more encouragement to vote yes than seeing crude currently at $38!. £12.50 is a brilliant price in this market. | ![]() orvis
18/12/2008 15:32 | CURRENTONE ;I have just been in contact with Merryl lynch and tried to contact Daniel. His Secretary will pass on the message to him about the admin charge for the privelage of voting. | ![]() squintyflinty

18/12/2008 15:29 | D B act for the Indians, no doubt they want it to fall short of 90% so that they can hold Peter to ransom to sell it at a 20% discount. | ![]() leedskier |
