Worrying as the share price is: do not panic... if anything, this rediculous discount to the offer price has got to encourage any holders still sitting on the fence to accept the offer.

[No typos here I hope..!]

Madjock2 you usually have spaces after a comma! Also your proposition in your post is all wrong. ;-)

Ok Katsy

I made a typo. I've let thousands go over the years, but now,to alleviate the stress i will review every post for grammatical content and any falling short will be highlighted,on this board, and ocassionally others of my choice.

Tigmi for all we know that may have been a sell from earlier today, that would explain us being red.

And by looking at the spread it is on a T20 as there is heavy premium there. Could someone have just learnt that this is going through this week.

If you haven't received the offer documents ,you can phone whoever you have a nominee account with and give them the instructions over the phone and let them know that you will follow them up with the written instructions.Jarvis accepts this procedure. I'm sure the others do as well. You can alternatively write tothem now and give written permission for them to pledge your shares. This will suffice. However, do not sit back and wait for things to happen.Make them happen!

serratia most nominee holders won't receive the offer document. But you should have received at least a corporate action by now.

here it is.

Madjock,

I'm not really bothered I bought for the long haul,if they drop to £4 they've still got the oil and it will come back some day.If the forms arrive I will sell.Either way it's not a big issue for me.
EDIT More a comment to others on Jarvis

The 75% thing i agree with and suggested when the offer document was posted. The 51% is as you say "idle speculation". No substance and probably would never satisfy either parties ultimate goals.

Idle speculation...

Suppose by the 30th they receive, say 85% acceptances. In theory they could withdraw the offer at that point, but wouldn't that leave them in more or less the same position as if they'd refused to post out the offer document and withdrawn? I appreciate that legally the obligations are different, and they may have had to make some recompense if they'd not tabled the bid. But from the credibility point and whether they may want to make further deals in future, walking away from the bid with anything above 75% would make them look like a bunch of amateurs.

I had another thought too. There were reports that they may just take a 51% stake if they don't get the 90% acceptance. I wonder if they'd accept the first 51% of tendered shares at the 1250p offer price? I believe takeover rules prohibit them from buying up a controlling interest in the market for 6 months at a lower price?

So anyone that sent in their acceptance early could potentially still get the 1250p even if the 90% figure isn't hit.
